Bo Yu and the other two, after parting ways with Lin Wanyu, began their journey to find Gokila.
"Bo Yu, how big is this Gokila? Where is it? How did you find out about its existence?" Lu Zhanbo, sitting in the back seat, asked repeatedly, his expression very excited and curious.
"It's not very big, probably the size of a potato or a fist. It's hiding in a shabby, messy, and rundown apartment. I found out about it by chance, but the information is very reliable and true," Bo Yu said while driving.
"Great! I always said that there are really monsters in this world. You guys, if a monster and my sister were to meet, who would be stronger?" Lu Zhanbo asked with great interest.
"Why would you ask such a question, Zhanbo? A fist-sized monster wouldn't even be enough to fill the gap between your sister's teeth. If it were to pose a threat to Hu Yifei, the monster would have to be at least as tall as a two-story building," Bo Yu thought about the question seriously.
"I think even a two-story tall monster wouldn't be enough for Yifei to fight. Her combat power should be on the level of Ultraman," Guan Guyu expressed his opinion.
The three of them laughed and joked about Hu Yifei's combat power. Suddenly, Bo Yu remembered and asked Lu Zhanbo, "Zhanbo, how are things going between your sister and Mr. Zeng these days?"
"There's no difference. They are still the same as before," Lu Zhanbo thought for a moment and said, "If I have to say anything has changed, it's that Mr. Zeng is even more annoying. He always calls my sister 'Xiao Feifei' and doesn't change even after being hit several times."
"Beating is a sign of affection, and scolding is a sign of love. Your sister hitting Mr. Zeng is a way of expressing her feelings. I wonder if Mr. Zeng will develop any strange traits from this." Bo Yu mused, thinking about the masochistic Zeng Xiaoxian and the sadistic Hu Yifei, which made him shudder.
After searching two neighborhoods, they still found nothing. These apartments were shabby, but they were not the ones where Zeng Xiaoxian lived in the original plot.
"This shouldn't be. There are no more low-rent apartments nearby..." Bo Yu muttered.
"Where should we go next?" Lu Zhanbo and Guan Guyu were not discouraged at all. If the monster were so easy to find, it wouldn't be a monster.
Bo Yu didn't say anything, frowning in thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. "Zhanbo, if you only have one photo, can you find out someone's identity?"
Lu Zhanbo didn't disappoint him, nodding without hesitation, "Of course, it's not difficult at all."
"Great!" Bo Yu was overjoyed. In the original TV series, there was a scene where Guan Guyu sent the drunk Zeng Xiaoxian back to the temporary apartment and accidentally tore down a wall, startling the Korean neighbor.
Bo Yu put his phone on silent, avoiding the gazes of Guan Guyu and Lu Zhanbo, found that scene, and took a screenshot of the Korean's face, sending it to Lu Zhanbo via WeChat.
"Zhanbo, find out where this person lives now. He should be a Korean."
"Foreigner?" Lu Zhanbo was a bit surprised but even more excited. A monster plus a foreigner, this was definitely a big conspiracy! A sense of mission arose within him.
He looked at the picture Bo Yu sent: "The resolution is poor, but it's no problem. Give me some time, and I need a computer, preferably my own, which I use the most comfortably."
"No problem." Without a word, Bo Yu drove back to the apartment.
Lin Wanyu was in the living room, wearing the headphones Lu Zhanbo gave her and listening to music. Suddenly, she saw the three of them rush in frantically.
"Zhanbo, you're back? Were you chased by a monster?" Lin Wanyu took off her headphones and asked with a smile.
"Not yet, but we've gathered key clues and are getting closer to it." Lu Zhanbo was determined to find the monster and even gave up the chance to talk more with Lin Wanyu, rushing back to his room.
Bo Yu and Guan Guyu followed behind Lu Zhanbo without saying much.
Lin Wanyu stuck out her tongue. The saying "men remain young until they die" was indeed true. Three late-stage otaku gathered together, and there was no saving them.
Lu Zhanbo returned to his room and turned on his computer.
"Ahem!" Bo Yu cleared his throat, "Be careful and don't leave any traces."
Lu Zhanbo said confidently, "Don't worry, I know what I can and cannot do." As he spoke, his fingers danced on the keyboard.
Bo Yu and Guan Guyu watched Lu Zhanbo with a look of awe.
Lu Zhanbo didn't keep them waiting long because this level of operation was as easy as drinking water for him.
"Found it. This person entered the country three months ago and is a Korean student. He currently lives in Room 2314 of Lvdao Apartment."
Bo Yu opened the Gaode Map on his phone and searched for Lvdao Apartment. The apartment was not far from here, but it wasn't close either. Bo Yu had fallen into a thinking trap, assuming that "nearby" in the original plot meant nearby, but it turned out to be three bus stops away.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Guan Guyu was already eager.
"Wait... I need to dig deeper into this Korean's background." Lu Zhanbo stopped them.
Bo Yu thought to himself, "He's just a poor, ordinary student. There's no way you can dig up anything significant."
Just as he was about to say something, Lu Zhanbo exclaimed, "As expected, it's not that simple!"
Bo Yu: "???"
"On the internet, no one can hide from my eyes!" Lu Zhanbo said confidently, "This person's information was deliberately forged, but I still found out. He lived in Japan as a child and only forged his identity to go to Korea in high school."
Bo Yu was really speechless. Even a child could tell this was abnormal. Does an ordinary person need to forge their identity?
Guan Guyu quickly distanced himself, "Don't look at me, I love peace!"
Lu Zhanbo snorted, "Ha, this has little to do with Japan. Most people would only be able to find this much, but I am Lu Zhanbo! Look here..."
Bo Yu and Guan Guyu were overwhelmed by the large amount of documents Lu Zhanbo pointed out, "No, just tell us the conclusion."
"This person has been secretly in contact with certain... entities (I can only write it this way, I don't want to be censored)," Lu Zhanbo said.
"So, this person's previous identity was all a facade?" Bo Yu asked, disbelieving.
"Exactly! I believe this is the person's true background!" Lu Zhanbo was very confident.
"That makes sense." Bo Yu thought to himself. Clearly, the cockroach rat was not a natural product, so it must have an origin. Who created it, and for what purpose?
Now things were clear.
"Let's report it to the police." Bo Yu knew his limits. At this level of conflict, they were just small fry.
"But if we report it now, we can only say that this Korean's identity is suspicious, but we have no concrete evidence," Lu Zhanbo said.
"Right, unless we have solid evidence to prove the existence of Gokila," Guan Guyu added.
Bo Yu had to admit they had a point.
Seeing Bo Yu's hesitation, Guan Guyu patted his shoulder, "Let's go! I will protect your safety with my life!"
Bo Yu was inspired by Guan Guyu's words, "Alright! Let's go and face this dragon's lair together!"
The three of them put their hands together and pressed down heavily.
