"Who are you?"
While Liu Yingzi was still lost in her thoughts, Yang Fengyun looked down at the person sitting on the ground and spoke in a cold voice.
The person being questioned was so intimidated by Yang Fengyun's cold gaze that they were at a loss, stammering and unable to form a complete sentence.
Seeing this, Liu Yingzi curiously walked over and took a look, only to find a handsome man with brown hair sitting on the ground. Upon closer inspection, this person seemed somewhat familiar...
"Oh, right, aren't you the guy who tried to chat me up during the day? What are you doing here?" As she spoke, Liu Yingzi narrowed her eyes. In fact, she had noticed someone here when she was surrounded by the four thugs earlier, but she didn't think much of it, assuming it was an ordinary person too scared to come over.
Meeting in the daytime and then again at night, and in such a situation, tsk tsk, what a coincidence!
Her thoughts turned, and Liu Yingzi seemed to understand something, immediately showing a look of disdain. Before the other person could respond, she asked, "How much did you pay those four guys to act out a hero-saving-the-damsel-in-distress scenario with you?"
The handsome man with brown hair was still under the influence of Yang Fengyun's intimidation, his mind not quite processing things. Hearing Liu Yingzi's words, he blurted out, "Five thousand, I... No, what are you talking about? They weren't hired by me."
Realizing what he had said halfway through, the handsome man quickly denied it. Unfortunately, it was like trying to cover one's ears while stealing a bell; both Liu Yingzi and Yang Fengyun understood what was going on.
Liu Yingzi's look of disdain towards the handsome man became even stronger, tinged with disgust. She never thought she would be set up with such a hero-saving-the-damsel-in-distress trick. Even if Yang Fengyun hadn't appeared, the other party wouldn't have succeeded, but being set up by a man still made her feel instinctively nauseous.
Having once been a man, Liu Yingzi knew exactly what the handsome man's ultimate goal was. Just thinking about being pinned down by a man made her feel the deep malice of the world.
Yang Fengyun, who understood everything, didn't want to stay there any longer and immediately left. Seeing this, Liu Yingzi quickly followed, leaving the handsome man and the four unconscious thugs behind.
After a while, the handsome man finally came to his senses. Thinking about his earlier embarrassment, his handsome face turned red and twisted with shame and anger. He walked over to the four unconscious thugs and said in a resentful voice, "It's all your fault, you useless idiots! You couldn't even beat one person, wasting my five thousand yuan!"
Turning to the direction where Liu Yingzi and Yang Fengyun had left, he said with a venomous look, "Damn bastards, and that woman, you'll remember this. I, Liu Yifan, will write my name backwards if I don't get revenge!"
On the other side, Liu Yingzi caught up with Yang Fengyun, "Hey, don't rush off, wait a moment!"
Yang Fengyun finally stopped, looking at Liu Yingzi coldly, "What else do you want?"
Liu Yingzi didn't react much to his cold attitude, smiling and saying, "Thank you for helping me deal with those thugs. How about I buy you a cup of milk tea?"
"Not interested." Yang Fengyun glanced at Liu Yingzi and continued walking.
Liu Yingzi didn't want Yang Fengyun to just run off. It was a rare opportunity to meet someone like herself, and she needed to get his contact information to continue her plans. She wanted to find her parents through Yang Fengyun.
Indeed, Liu Yingzi's true purpose in approaching Yang Fengyun was to meet her parents in this world—since her parallel self was identical to her high school self, her parents must also be the same.
Before Liu Yingzi could say more, Yang Fengyun's expression suddenly darkened, and his aura changed, creating an intangible pressure that made her feel suffocated. Before she could figure out what was happening, Yang Fengyun darted away like a ghost, leaping between buildings like a nimble monkey, disappearing from Liu Yingzi's sight in an instant.
"This... this is too much, right?" Liu Yingzi was at a loss for words, wondering why the same Yang Fengyun could be so different. Was this world's Yang Fengyun raised on gold nuggets?
"Annoying, I didn't even get his phone number. Who knows when I'll meet him again..." Liu Yingzi grumbled, then thought of a possibility, "Right, if there's a parallel world's Yang Fengyun, maybe my parents are also living in the hometown on another Earth. I might as well take some time to go back and visit."
As she thought, Liu Yingzi quickly returned home and turned on her computer to check her song on the Heavenly Melody website. She had wanted to do this during the day but decided to enjoy the holiday atmosphere and left it for the evening.
However, fate seemed to be playing a trick on Liu Yingzi, not letting her have a peaceful night. Just as she opened her web browser, she suddenly felt a strange energy enveloping her, making her feel nauseous and dizzy. Then, the entire house went dark, as if the power had gone out.
"Are you kidding me! The power goes out at a time like this! Can't people enjoy the holiday?" Liu Yingzi grumbled and instinctively reached for her phone.
But the result was even more shocking. Her phone was off and wouldn't turn on, as if it had run out of battery.
Liu Yingzi frowned, "What's going on? I remember it had 30% battery left."
Boom! Bang!
At that moment, Liu Yingzi heard a low rumble and a crash from outside. She was taken aback and immediately went to the window to look.
What she saw almost made her wet her pants. The entire neighborhood and a large area outside were enveloped in a mysterious light curtain that glowed with a purple light. The neighborhood was in a blackout, as if cut off from the world, but under the light of the curtain, it was like being illuminated by a new moon—though not clear, most things were visible.
At the same time, the entire neighborhood seemed to have turned into a ghost town, devoid of any life. Apart from Liu Yingzi, she couldn't see anyone else, even though it was only 9 PM and there should have been many people out walking their dogs.
The eerie situation made Liu Yingzi's hair stand on end, "What's going on? Am I seeing ghosts?"
Thinking of this, Liu Yingzi quickly took out the blueprint for transforming into a two-dimensional girl to gain some sense of security. At that moment, the rumbling and crashing sounds came again. Then, with a loud bang, a large hole appeared in the center of the building across the street, and a dark figure flew out.
Bang!
The dark figure crashed into the wall outside Liu Yingzi's room, causing the entire room to shake. Liu Yingzi lost her balance and fell to the ground, instinctively looking out the window at the dark figure on the building.
Under the light of the curtain, Liu Yingzi could see the person clearly through the window. She was stunned because it was none other than the parallel world's Yang Fengyun she had met not long ago!
