“How did you know I was going to confront him?” I cocked my eyebrow.
“I didn’t know.” He shook his head. “Not only did I not know, by the time I left, I even had the impression that you had chosen him over me.”
“Then how did you…” I subconsciously asked.
He did not speak anymore. He took me to his car, kept my luggage in the car boot, and opened the door for me. Then he stood at the door and stared at me as I buckled my seat belt. His voice was soft like a piece of velvet fluttering back and forth on the tip of my heart. “I just couldn’t bear to leave.”
My heart ceased to beat. I was almost unable to move, and all of a sudden my seat belt couldn’t be fastened properly. I gave up on what I was doing and stared into his eyes. “Rong Shi…now it’s my turn. I don’t want to play with you anymore.”
His face slightly darkened, and it sounded as if ice had formed in his velvety voice. “What do you mean?”
“I’m single now.” I smiled. “Don’t seduce me as you like. I will cling to you.”
He breathed a sigh of relief. “Of course I know. I can’t wait for you to cling to me.”
He bent over into the car to fasten my seat belt, and instead of exiting, he pressed his hands against the car seat and looked at me. “Although it may sound a bit strange, I’m glad that you came to me after you found out you had been cheated on.”
“By the way, what did you mean by what you had said to him just now?” I asked.
Something about how if it hadn’t been for you, he would never have ended up with me.
He smiled with his eyes. “I’ll tell you if you kiss me.”
“Never mind then.” I shook my head. “I’m a bad kisser.”
He was amused. “You really hold grudges…”
He shut the door on my side, got in the driver seat, and after he started the car, he said, “I’ll tell you a secret then?”
“What secret?”
“Come closer.” He beckoned me with his finger.
I leaned in, ready to listen to whatever he was about to tell me in such a secretive way, but he quickly kissed my ear.
I looked at him while covering my ears. “You’re so childish.”
He laughed out loud.
“The secret is, on our first date, he wore your clothes, right?”
He was a little surprised. “How did you know?”
“I guessed it.” I was a little triumphant. “Aren’t I smart?”
“Very smart.” He lowered his head, looking very satisfied. “Since you guessed it yourself, I didn’t actually break my promise to him. But that’s not my secret.”
I didn’t know anymore. “That’s not it? Then what is it?”
He stared back at me. “Do you remember saving a sophomore in your junior year?”
I was stunned.
I remembered that.
When I returned late one day during my junior year, I ran into another student who was jogging at night at the back door of the school. He jogged past me before collapsing to the ground in front of me.
There was no one else around at the time, so I called an ambulance and followed him to the hospital, spending all night there.
Because it was too dark at the time, I couldn’t see his face clearly. When we got into the ambulance, they put an oxygen mask on his face. After we arrived at the hospital, he was immediately taken to the operating room. I didn’t even know what he looked like.
He didn’t have his phone with him, nor did he have any identification or money with him. I paid his medical bills, and because I hadn’t had enough money at that time, they had temporarily detained my ID card at the hospital.
I had thought that it was strange that his family members had rushed over so quickly. He hadn’t woken up yet, and I hadn’t contacted anyone at that time.
He pinched my face. “Later, the doctor told me that if you hadn’t been there and performed CPR on me at the time, I might not have survived.”
“It was you?” I was still in shock.
He curled his lips into a smile, appearing handsome and gentle. “Otherwise, why do you think I’m so deeply in love with you? I even kept your ID under my pillow for a few days after the nurse returned it to me when I hadn’t been discharged from the hospital yet. Later on, as the holidays approached, I was worried that you wouldn’t be able to return home without an ID, so I asked him who was visiting me in the hospital at that time to pass it to you.”
Little Bastard didn’t say anything when he returned my ID card and money. He simply stated that he would like to thank me by inviting me to dinner.
“That’s why I said, I’m glad you came to me,” he said.
I held my forehead. “Don’t talk first. Allow me to digest all this.”
He looked a little wronged. “Are you not going to kiss me first?”
I stopped his face from leaning in close. “Tell me the truth. Did you scheme for Little Bitch to pursue Little Bastard?”
“Why would I do something like that?” He immediately denied it. “I am not this type of person. I would be happier if you were happy.”
No wait, why did you sound so insincere…
He held my hands. “Kiss me please.”
He said it in a begging tone, but his lips were extremely domineering as he sucked, licked, rubbed, and pressed against my lips. I soon found myself panting and blushing.
He let go of me. “Damn, I want to fuck you right now.”
I covered my face. “I think it’s better if I take a taxi.”
“Where are you going?” His brows furrowed.
“To my best friend’s house. I told her I’ll be staying at her place for a few days.”
He was even unhappier. “Are you dissatisfied with my house?”
Ah?
His face was full of dissatisfaction. “Why not stay in my house?”
I was a little embarrassed. “It’s not convenient.”

He gave me a sidelong glance. “Then it’s convenient if I go find you at your friend’s house tomorrow? She will be breastfeeding her baby, and we’ll be dating beside her. Isn’t that harmonious?”
Even imagining this scene made me drunk. 1 I quickly changed my words, “Then, Young Master Rong, can I stay at your house for a few days?”
He had a big smile on his face. “Of course you can. You’re welcome to stay till we’re married.”

T/N: Little Bastard is not worthy of a name 🤣
