“Guess I’ll eat this today.”

I was walking in the woods with a rabbit which I had hunted in one hand.

The day I met that white tiger, I was blown away and landed in an area that was probably not Tohto. That blow should have spelt certain-death for me, but I was still alive for some reason.

The location I was blown away to was in a large forest, which didn’t feel like it was in Japan at all, and had quite a few monsters but no illuminated beasts.

The forest was littered with goblins and orcs, which were small-fry monsters one regularly found in games, so I decided to train my Kikou here before heading back to Tohto.

As a result, I trained here for quite a while. At first, I struggled quite a bit, but after getting the hang of it, I carried on and had become fairly strong now.

A species which takes time to learn Kikou and become stronger. Faces fewer ups and downs in emotions with increase in experience, thus becoming similar to a Beast.

A skill acquired by those who train in martial arts. Integrates both [Swordsmanship] as well as [Physical Combat].

[Appraisal]

A skill that reads information regarding an object.

[Hunting]

A skill acquired by those who learnt to hunt.

[Carpentry]

A skill acquired by those who have created various objects by processing wood.

[Handicraft]

A skill acquired by those who have used the fur of animals and other breeds to create clothing.

A skill acquired by those who can cook.

[Kikou]

A race skill. Its ability changes depending on its <Color>. An all-powerful skill possessed by Sages and Spirit Beasts.

[Blue]

One of the properties of Kikou. It can be used to manipulate the wind, and lift objects into the air.

One of the properties of Kikou. It can be used to enter and leave shadows, as well as to hide one’s presence.

[White]

One of the properties of Kikou. It can be used to control plants, and to detect presences.

[Azure]

One of the derivatives of [Blue]. Extends the range at which objects can manipulated using Ki.

[Pure-White]

One of the derivatives of [White]. Extends the range at which plants can be manipulated, or withered at.

[Blue], which I had received first, had the greatest affinity to me, and I was able to evolve it quickly once I got the hang of it.

After hunting, I had arrived in front of the giant tree which was currently my lair. It had a trunk the width of a classroom, and I was using its centre as a house by carving it out.

“Fu~,”

There weren’t any illuminated beasts around here, let alone sacred ones. At best, there were human-strength goblins, or bear-strength orcs, which allowed me to rest without worrying too much.

“Though I guess there isn’t a “sanctuary” around here.”

I went out to explore sometimes in the middle of my training, but I hadn’t felt anything resembling such a place.

(It’s about time…)

I’d found a comfortable place for training where I stayed for a long time, but I felt that it was time to start searching for the “sanctuary” in earnest.

“I’m stronger than the average monster or illuminated beast, so I guess it’s fine to move now.”

With only some light clothes, I hid my house in the tree well enough, and prepared to head out by tomorrow.

“Right, everything’s set.”

I didn’t have that many possessions, but I put things that were too wasteful to leave, such as tableware and simple tents, on the ground.

Using Ki, I stored the goods inside my shadow one by one. This is thanks to the [Black] property of Kikou.

(There seem to be no strong enemies within the explored range, which makes me want to get out of this area at once)

Spreading Ki throughout my body, I dash at my full speed.

As I proceeded smoothly, I finally reached an unexplored part of the forest.

“I’ll have to tread carefully from here.”

The surrounding forest hadn’t changed that much, but having decided that taking my time to explore a region first is better than simply covering distance, I set up my tent despite it only being noon.

(There don’t seem to be too many monsters here)

I become vigilant, while thinking about the time I was blown away by that white tiger.
