“Well, if Ousei-dono insists.”

Saijou gave a small smirk, and stepped back. The other two followed suit.

“Fuu.”

(I’m in high-spirits. As expected, being watched adds another level of excitement.)

“These trees are in the way.”

As he whispered that, the trees around Ritsu start withering one-by-one while making cracking sounds. Cherry blossom petals rose from Ritsu’s shadow in order to hide those trees.

Encasing Ritsu, the petals gradually rotating in the air while dancing, cluttered together the next moment and encircled him in a helix, rising up as a tornado towards the sky.

The surrounding monsters stopped in their tracks after noticing the strange trees and the abnormal phenomenon in front of them, while staring at Ritsu who was the cause of it all.

(All of you, have lost your minds, in that case…)

“I’ll end your suffering, in an instant.”

“[Ryuu-ou].” (Cherry-Blossom Dragon)

The cherry blossom petals that had risen towards heaven, took the shape of a giant dragon and crashed down on top of the monsters. The monsters all crumbled into dust, without having a chance to even scream in the end.

“Fuu.”

Heaving a sigh, Ritsu stood still atop a crimson-colored puddle.

“It’s over. As expected, the monsters here didn’t have any fight in them.”

Releasing Ki outside his body, Ritsu blew off the blood he got splattered with, and started heading back towards the gate.

“Sorry I kept you all waiting.”

Ritsu came back to the four who were waiting for him in front of the gate.

“A technique that manipulates cherry blossom petals to cut into opponents? Were the Minotaur’s wounds also because of this?”

Placing a hand on her chin, Izumi questioned Ritsu after seeing his technique.

“Yes, that’s right. It’s a technique that uses reinforced cherry blossom petals.”

Ritsu answers while taking out a single petal in his hand.

“Have to say, that’s a pretty horrifying technique.”

Saijou muttered, while looking at the puddle of blood.

“It’s difficult to avoid as each piece is small. Moreover, depending on where it hits, even a single piece could be fatal.”

Tanno says while looking at the petal in Ritsu’s hand.

“It does have some weaknessess though. Well, shall we head inside?”

Saying that, Ritsu started walking inside the open gate.

“Yes, let’s go in. The headquarters of the Yozakura clan is right near the entrance.”

Izumi stood in front of the four, and also started walking towards the gate.

“Stop right there.”

One of the gatekeepers spoke to Ritsu.

“The other four have exit-records so they can go in, but you will have to undergo an investigation.”

With an eye on Ritsu, the gatekeeper pointed inside the gate, towards the building embedded into the rocky mountain.”

“Like I’ve told you already, this person is the Oushuu‘s long-lost grandson!”

Izumi said so and rushed towards the gatekeeper.

“Despite so, he has to undergo investigation. Sightings of shape-shifting monsters are yet to be confirmed, but we have to keep our guard up. Rules are rules.”

Saying that, he guides the five inside the building.

…UIIIIIIIN.

As they stodd in front of what resembled a bran-door, it automatically opened.

“An automatic-door…”

“The Yozakura clan has a research facility, and this was invented there as well. It’s called an automatic-door.”

Izumi explains, seeing the awe-struck Ritsu.

“Research facility?”

“I’ve heard that fortunately, there were many engineers that transferred to the sanctuary.”

Saijou added, as he continued.

“What do you mean “heard”, it was taught to us in history class. The fighters all protect technicians so that technology never ceases to exist.”

Kuroi said while resting his hand on his chin, thinking of something.

“I see.”

“Please sit there.”

The gatekeeper guides Ritsu towards the seat near the entrance.

“We have heard what Izumi-san had to say, so we will keep this short. In exchange, please go to the headquarters as soon as you’re done here.”

“Right. Thank you very much.”

“Then please enter your name and age here.”

The gatekeeper instructed, while taking out a document and pen.

“Yeah, about my age, how old do you think I am? I haven’t exactly been keeping count, you see…”

Ritsu groaned and scratched his head, while asking the person in-charge.

“The sanctuary transfer was precisely 54 years ago. For now, please add 54 to your age before the transfer occurred.”

“Got it.”

(71 years old, huh. How complicated. That’s almost as much as the old-man before the transfer.)

“Alright, looks good. Then please follow Izumi-san to where she goes. Also, do not get separated from Izumi-san till you reach the headquarters. Can you promise me that?”

As the person in-charge confirmed that, Ritsu stood up and took the document with him.

“Understood.”

He bowed politely, and headed to where Izumi and the others were.
