Chapter 1

Today, the Hero got caught in the trap again.

“Shit! You damned orc… I will not yield to such a cowardly trick! Kill me now!”

I kneeled down as I approached the Hero who was screaming at me.

“What?! Are you trying to rape me?! You cowardly bastard!! I will never be defeated!!”

I opened the foothold trap that was holding onto the Hero’s feet to release his feet. Judging from the looks of it, the part of his leg that got trapped by the foothold trap was protected by sturdy boots so it seemed he didn’t sustain any injury.

“Your leg, does it hurt?”

“No, not at all.”

When I took a closer look, I could see the scratch mark from the blade of the foothold trap on his boots. I took out my homemade repair paste from my hip pouch and applied it to the scratch mark. The homemade paste immediately hardened into the boots, making the scratch less noticeable.

“Just what are you planning to do after releasing me?! Could it be… You’re planning on taking me back to your den so you could do all kinds of filthy stuff to me?! I will never yield!!”

I sighed.

“Can you please leave?”

“What?! There’s no way a cowardly orc will let me go without doing anything to me!! This must be one of your traps!! Just what are you planning to do?!”

“Then… Umm… Can you please stop getting caught in my trap again? If you promise me that then I will let you go.”

“What?! Are you implying that I purposely got caught in your trap?! You foolish orc!”

If you didn’t do it on purpose then how do you explain this?

I felt like it had been two weeks ago since I warned him because I saw him near the trap I had set up. I had been eating nothing but dried meat lately because no matter how much I placed the trap in different places, the Hero would keep on getting caught in my trap again and again.

Haah… I really want to have some fresh meat. Like a rabbit for example…

“Then do you have some fresh meat from the animal you hunt today? I would like to buy some.”

“What?! I knew it! You had me in your sight and captured me for this! You greedy orc!”

The Hero said so while taking out a monster from his item pouch. It was an outrageously huge dark dragon.

Ugh… Isn’t this the Lord of the Rotten Sea on the northern border? Crap. The miasma is seriously bad. I’m starting to feel bad.

“Umm… Please put it away. The miasma is going to kill the other creatures in this forest.”

“Ah, that won’t be good. No good, no good.”

The Hero put the dragon’s corpse back into his item pouch.The soil under the dragon’s corpse had already started to rot.

I will have to come back later to spread some purifier medicine there…

“I can’t eat that. I’m half-human and I’m not a strong monster to begin with. My stomach is going to be destroyed if I was hit by that miasma. Don’t you have a more ordinary animal with you?”

“Umm.. This?”

The Hero took out a red fox.

Yes, yes. That kind of animal.

“Then I will buy the meat part of that animal. How much is that going to be?”

“I don’t need your orc gold!! I will just give it to you if you want!”

He then held out the red fox to me without any hesitation.

“Oh, thank you very much.”

With this, I can eat fresh meat today.

A smile appeared on my face as I was thinking that.

“Yo-You’re such a cruel one! Smiling like that after taking something from someone!! I knew it, you’re going to bring me back to your den and do terrible things to me, aren’t you?!”

Whaaat?

“No, I don’t have any intentions like that. I already got my prey so can you please go back home.”

“What?! You’re going to throw me away after you’re done with me?! You damned ruthless orc!!”

In the end, I brought the Hero home with me. Or to be precise, he just followed me on his own.

I lived in a cave that used to belong to a family of dwarfs. The cave was already slightly excavated and expanded by the dwarf. The cave was not that spacious but it was enough for one person to live comfortably in it. More importantly, living in this cave made the other creatures living in the forest unable to notice me easily so it was just perfect for me who was living in hiding.

T/N: Another new novel but this time it’s more on the comedic side. I just love how the Hero didn’t even try to make his acting believable
