After a huge amount of air was extracted, a massive wind tunnel appeared above Manhattan. The surrounding gales quickly converged, forming a violent weather change. The people of New York looked in amazement at the upsurge of air and the resulting gale, their eyes full of confusion. The sky phenomena today seemed too bizarre.
It had been four or five minutes, and the vacuum here was still less than half filled. Storm, taking advantage of the change in airflow, stabilized her form, but she no longer dared to make a move.
If such a vacuum state were to occur in a large city, it would be enough to cause the suffocation and death of hundreds of thousands of people. Combined with a violent storm, it could destroy a large city. Humans are always too fragile in the face of astronomical phenomena.
Chen Ang used gravity to extract the storm created by Storm, a power that had reached the level of world destruction.
Magneto and Storm felt a suffocating pressure. Such terror was indescribable. The only reason the two refused to admit defeat was their complacency.
In the sky, force and counterforce were a challenge. Without a fulcrum, one would easily be affected by force. Although the suction force was terrifying, it was not enough to shake the two Omega-level mutants. However, being in the air without a fulcrum, they were swept up in the storm, completely unable to fight back.
Fortunately, the target this time was only the steel throne under Apocalypse's feet!
They slowly landed on the ground, facing Apocalypse head-on, feeling an immense pressure. The sense of helplessness from earlier made the two remember Apocalypse's terror even more vividly. The feeling of being toyed with, of being weak, was something neither of them wanted to experience again.
"Magneto, X-Men!" Chen Ang stood on the high platform with his hands behind his back, looking down at them. Mystique stood behind him, her expression complex. Chen Ang extended his hand, making an inviting gesture. On the steel platform, countless mechanical bodies reformed, and a long spiral staircase appeared at her feet.
Mystique glanced back at him, ignoring the staircase. She leaped from the platform hundreds of meters high, a thin rope around her waist. Using the rope's strength, she swung forward, performing a beautiful flip and landing behind Magneto.
The Professor greeted her softly, "Raven!"
Mystique stood silently behind Magneto, not looking at him. The silent sorrow between the two made the atmosphere fall into silence.
Magneto suddenly extended his hands and gently squeezed, deforming and twisting the Professor's wheelchair to bind him. This sudden change stunned everyone. Magneto had already put on a helmet to prevent psychic probing. Seeing Storm and Wolverine about to charge, he lifted the Professor into the air, forcing the two to retreat.
The Professor sighed, "Erik, you... sigh!"
Magneto looked at him, saying nothing, not even a hint of joy. He turned to face Chen Ang and shouted, "Apocalypse, let's cooperate! He is the sincerity I bring."
"The world is already corrupt. Mutants, as a new force, have long been discriminated against and oppressed. This is a mistake and a common cause for all mutants. Charles dreams of peace with humans, but I believe that only war can secure space for mutants."
Magneto sighed, "Every brother and sister is precious. They are the strength of our mutants. If I could, I would not want to harm them. But in the struggle, there will be sacrifices, whether from us or the X-Men. For our common cause, there are some decisions we must make."
"We only ask for the right to live under this blue sky."
Storm and Scott's hearts sank bit by bit. If Apocalypse and Magneto cooperated, it would be a disaster for the X-Men and humanity. Without Magneto, their only counter to Apocalypse, they would be helpless. The Professor and Wolverine, however, looked at Chen Ang calmly, seemingly unconcerned.
"So, what position do you think mutants should have?" Chen Ang seemed very interested.
"We will be free, not forced or bound, not discriminated against or harmed. We want to establish a nation of our own," Magneto said seriously.
"Granting those with power the corresponding status and position is the rule of order. Your request does not seem unreasonable. But where do humans stand in your blueprint?" Chen Ang asked.
"Peaceful coexistence. I believe that one day, all humans will become mutants. I look forward to that day."
"You speak persuasively, but it seems useless! A faction's stance is not determined by its leader but by the political stance of the majority of its members." Chen Ang summoned a strand of electromagnetic waves, and an image of a Brotherhood member appeared in the air.
The white man's face was covered in fur like a monkey, with sharp nails, looking like a gorilla. He held a wine glass, seemingly bored, and soon he noticed a woman passing by the bar. He leaped lightly, landing on a nearby rooftop, and followed the woman.
In a small alley, the mutant pounced from above, lunging at the woman.
But he froze in the air. Chen Ang gently moved his fingers, and an invisible rope tightened around his head, pulling tighter and tighter. The sound of a spine breaking made the gorilla twitch twice before becoming still.
"Your subordinates don't seem to think that way. They see mutants as a status, a position, and power. They only want to rule humans, not coexist peacefully. They want to return the injustice, discrimination, and abuse they have suffered to humans."
Chen Ang smiled, "To be fair, this is not wrong, but who am I? I am a human, and my stance is always with humanity. I have no interest in building a mutant colonial state in the 21st century through violence and powers."
"Your so-called brothers and sisters, the failures, the lowlifes, dream of one day becoming the masters of humans. They numb themselves with tobacco, alcohol, and violence, using their powers to determine their status. They don't seem to fit the profile of a suitable partner. Have they even been to school?"
Chen Ang shrugged, "Look, relying on a bunch of street thugs to achieve anything, you seem to be missing a beer hall. You didn't write an excellent autobiography in prison, did you? Are you an art student?"
"You have no leverage and no skills. I thought I would see a group of SS in the Brotherhood, but instead, I found a bunch of hippies. I have made myself very clear, so can you let go of my ally?"
Chen Ang's final words shocked everyone present. They looked at the Professor, noticing his wheelchair was slowly being lowered. Wolverine and Storm quickly moved to protect the Professor. Magneto used all his strength but could not resist Chen Ang's gravitational power. One person's magnetic field against Chen Ang, who had the power of a super-large electromagnetic generator, was like an egg hitting a stone.
When power reaches a certain level, control is the key. Being able to use the electromagnetic generator to harness the gravity of millions of tons of the Earth to counter a single Magneto was not difficult at all.
"I should formally introduce you. The Professor is my partner. Together, we promote the integration of mutants and humans. Even in cooperation, I choose the right partners. Mutants from more privileged backgrounds, who depend on human society, protected by their parents and families, and educated in mutant schools, are the main force for future integration with humans."
"Among them, many excellent scientists and elites will emerge. The Professor and I will work together to develop mutant abilities from another angle. The mission of the mutant school will change from control and protection to 'Powers, making us better.'"
"Of course, our cooperation and conflict are not contradictory. The Professor is also trying to stop my plan to destroy the world." Chen Ang smiled, "So, I will give the X-Men a break."
"The Brotherhood will not have such luck! My laboratory is ready for you, Magneto!" (To be continued.)
