Lucian was flipping through his notebook.

The notebook on summoning had been torn up as an act of harassment, so he had rewritten it. He had also rewritten pages after looking at Euseus' notebook, and combined with his mental state at the time, the pages were a mess.

When he finally found what he was looking for, he reread the most basic incantation of summoning magic.

"If one day, you suddenly hear a voice saying, 'Human, human,' who do you think it might be?"

"A being that can understand words"

"A guard who deals with suspicious individuals"

"A curious person"

"A person without caution"

Teacher Suania elicited these opinions from the students.

Teacher Cures then said,

"Those are quite insightful answers.

The summoning magic circle has a considerable amount of attraction. Therefore, most spirits are drawn to it.

However, if the incantation is as simple as 'Spirit, spirit,' only low-level spirits that cannot resist the attraction will come. Spirits with a guard-like disposition might come to check things out, but they would likely dismiss a clumsy novice summoner as unworthy of attention.

By the way, with the current crude level of the magic circle, there is a lot of noise, so the quality of the magic power is neither reflected nor amplified.

Therefore, spirits are not drawn by the quality of the incantator's magic power."

Advanced summoning magic circles can apparently send incantations to the boundary between the world of high-level spirits and our world.

However, this is only the case with advanced magic circles. At a low level, they don't reach such a high level.

In short, the summoning effect is appropriate to the level of the magic circle.

Lucian and the others were disheartened to realize that they were saying childish phrases like "Spirit, spirit" in ancient language.

Still, they couldn't yet perform complex incantations like "Beautiful water spirit, come forth, I will offer my magic power as a reward," nor could they draw complex magic circles or perfectly chant while infusing magic power.

--- Still, a spirit that could be seen responded to my summoning incantation?

Today was the weekly "Physical Education" class.

At the Royal Academy, there is a "Physical Education" period in the basic curriculum.

It was interesting. It was almost disappointing that it only happened once a week.

The facilities for physical education at the Royal Academy were so well-equipped that it was almost overwhelming.

For the first two months, classes were held to explain and use these facilities.

There were various mats for physical education, a pool, all kinds of equipment for strength training, and even magical devices that mimicked the movements of magical beasts.

Around the time the harassment incident was resolved.

During the physical education class, an explanation of the "Capture the Flag" game was given.

Lucian was excited about the interesting game.

"Is Euseus going to be the commander for the Capture the Flag game?"

"It seems so."

Euseus answered with a slightly reluctant expression. He might have been thinking about strategies or choosing team members.

Leaders are chosen mechanically from the top of the class. As the top student, Euseus was definitely the first leader.

Lucian's grades in the first group were around the middle, so he would never be a leader.

"The Capture the Flag game sounds really fun, doesn't it?"

Lucian spoke to Euseus while changing in the royal waiting room. Euseus, the first prince, had to change in this room for security reasons, and Lucian was always with him.

The boys' physical education class was combined with the second group because the boys and girls were separated.

Thus, the first group of 18 boys had to choose two leaders, and the second group did the same.

One would be Euseus, and the other would likely be Patrice or Glen.

If the school wanted to pair Euseus with his aide Patrice, it might be Glen.

The number of players in the Capture the Flag game varies according to the rules.

When there are 9 players per team, two leaders are chosen.

When there are 18 players per team, Euseus would be the only leader, and the other leader would be a sub-leader or advisor.

There are official rules, but when playing games at the school, the rules and the size of the territory are often changed arbitrarily depending on the number of players and the court.

For example, at the school, the shape and size of the territory are designed to make it easier for enemy infantry to attack the king and his aides in the king's area.

Therefore, the defense of the aides is quite important.

"Lucian, do you want to be an aide?"

When asked by Euseus, Lucian laughed and replied, "Can I say my preference? I don't really want to."

"Even if it's just a preference, I have to ask, right?"

Euseus had a serious expression, regardless of his true feelings.

"Hmm.

But, the leaders will draw lots to decide the order and choose one member at a time, right?

What if the other leader chooses me first? I might end up on a different team."

Euseus made a reluctant face at Lucian's point.

"That's true.

But fortunately, so far in physical education classes, there have been no ball games to assess the students' skills with the equipment."

Lucian and Euseus were alone with only Caron, as Patrice had gone ahead on an errand.

"Yeah, that's true."

Euseus was right.

The school wanted to prevent accidents or injuries from unfamiliar equipment, so they had focused on getting the students used to it. As a result, the classes had been centered around the equipment, and no ball games had been played.

"In other words, it was a class where we couldn't accurately assess physical abilities."

"Maybe."

Reflecting on the past classes, the ones that favored students who were familiar with the equipment had been advantageous. It might not have been a class where they could really assess each other's physical abilities. Out of the eight classes, half were swimming in the heated pool, and the rest were strength training and mat exercises.

"Surely, they'll choose the bigger students."

Euseus smiled.

"It's not because you didn't play ball games during lunch break, right?"

Lucian remembered that for the past two months, Euseus had never played ball games during lunch, even when invited, and had dragged Lucian to the library.

"Hehe."

His cousin had a mischievous smile.

Lucian understood. Lucian was slightly taller than average and slender, resembling his father's build. He didn't look strong.

It was unknown that Lucian could use body strengthening magic. Now that he thought about it, Euseus had been guiding the conversation to avoid the topic of body strengthening magic.

Even in physical education classes, body strengthening had not come up at all.

It was rare for a first-year middle school student to be an expert in body strengthening magic, especially among students in the magic department. If a knight's family had drilled it into their son, they would likely be in the knight department.

So, this was the reason, Lucian thought, feeling a bit exasperated.

When Lucian mentioned that he could naturally use body strengthening magic at around 5 years old, Patrice was shocked. At the time, only Patrice, Lucian, Euseus, and the attendant Caron were present.

Patrice had been training hard in body strengthening magic to become a bodyguard for Euseus, but he still couldn't use it properly. He was also serious about swordsmanship.

Unfortunately, Patrice was clearly better suited for a role as an aide or a civil servant.

Euseus had consoled the dejected Patrice, saying, "But, Patrice, you are much more thoughtful than Lucian."

Lucian thought that was a poor way to console him, but he read the room and didn't complain.

That day, the leaders were chosen, and the team members were selected in class.

The leaders for the first group were Euseus and Glen.

The team members were chosen by the leaders taking turns, including the second group.

Euseus successfully included Lucian and Patrice on his team.
