That day…

I still can’t believe that Hiro-chan is gone from this world.

I have been with you for a long time, so when I am in my room, I even feel like Hiro is next to me.

But you’re not coming back. When I think of that, I can’t stop crying. I just want to see you, that’s all.

Please forgive me for thinking so selfishly, even though Hiro-chan died because of me. But I really want to see you.

I want to hold your hand and listen to your music like I always do. I want to go to summer festivals. I want to watch the meteor shower together like we did one day.

Everything I care about is gone because of my lousy behavior. I’m really sorry, Hiro-chan.

I really have nothing but regrets about that day. It may sound like an excuse, but I don’t know why I did that.

When Takatsuki-senpai asked me to meet with him alone, of course I was going to refuse. But I had heard from Hiro-chan that Takatsuki was harassing him in club activities, so I decided to meet with him to complain about it.

I also wanted to know why he was targeting only Hiro-chan.

The place I was told to meet was a family restaurant. As for me, I did not want to stay there as long as possible.

I was planning to leave early that day and meet Hiro-chan. Takatsuki-senpai said something unexpected.

He said that I was the reason why he was targeting Hiro-chan in club activities.

In other words, Takatsuki-senpai likes me and doesn’t like the fact that I wait for Hiro-chan to finish your club activities and I am always with you. Then he confessed to me that he wanted me to go out with me.

Of course I refused.

Hiro-chan might think it was a lie, but my heart has remained the same since I was a child and I loved Hiro-chan.

I complained that it was not right to harass Hiro-chan for such a reason and tried to leave.

Takatsuki-senpai asked me to accompany him for one more drink. Takatsuki-senpai then said he was going to pour my drink and got up from his seat.

I thought,

“Well, at least one drink is okay,” and decided to go along with that much.

But from this point on, it felt strange, I couldn’t figure out what was going on.

After a while I started the next drink, my head started to feel fuzzy and I started to feel sleepy.

While I was thinking, “That’s strange, that’s weird,” before I knew it we were out of the family restaurant and Takatsuki-senpai was taking me into an unfamiliar building.

From that point on, I didn’t seem like myself.

My memory were hazy, but all the memories that remain are really painful.

When Takatsuki-senpai took me by the hand and led me out of the building, my head was just a blank.

Even writing this myself, it sounds like an excuse. I can easily imagine how hurt Hiro-chan must have been when you saw me coming out of that building.

If I had been in the opposite position, I would have done the same thing as Hiro-chan.

I’m really sorry, Hiro-chan. I’m sorry for being such a terrible childhood friend. I’m really, really sorry.
