Two Months Later

"Haah, I can't seem to sell anything today either."

"Hehe, little miss! That's to be expected. Magic potions are expensive for us commoners, you know."

"Yeah, I guess so..."

"Don't be so down! You're not completely failing, right? Yesterday, a very handsome adventurer bought one. And not long ago, a knight did too, didn't he? If you keep at it, the word will spread, and customers will start coming! I know what I'm talking about, having tried your magic potion myself."

The man selling fruits next to her was the one encouraging her. He was a kind man who always gave her fruit, but he had been looking unwell recently. As a token of gratitude, she had given him a magic potion. Even though she only had low-level healing potions to offer because the mid-level and high-level ones weren't selling, it seemed to have worked quickly, and he was very surprised. She thought to herself, "Was it really that effective?" but seeing him so happy made her feel good.

Reinvigorated by the man's encouragement, she was about to put in more effort when a customer arrived.

"Welcome... sir..."

However, the customer was the handsome man who had bought a magic potion yesterday, and he looked rather serious.

(Oh, did something go wrong with the product I sold yesterday?)

Seeing the customer's expression, she became worried that there might be a problem with the magic potion she had made.

"Um, are you the customer from yesterday? Is something wrong today...?"

"..."

(Why is he silent? If he has something to say, he should just say it clearly!)

"Um..."

"Did you definitely make the magic potion from yesterday?"

"Um, yes, I did..."

"I see..."

(No, don't just be silent! If you have something to say, say it clearly!)

Not knowing how to respond to someone whose intentions were unclear, she heard a voice from the side.

"Hey, buddy. If you have something to say, just say it clearly. You're making the girl worry."

The fruit vendor seemed to be addressing the silent customer. The customer looked up, seemingly startled by the man's words.

"Sorry. Actually, I came to scout you today."

"Huh, to scout me...?"

"Yeah. I want to scout the person who made that wonderful magic potion."

(Wonderful magic potion? But it was just a low-level healing potion... Is he mistaken?)

"Um... the magic potion you bought yesterday was a low-level healing potion, right? Are you sure there's no misunderstanding?"

"No, there's no misunderstanding. If you don't mind, could I have a little of your time now? I'm Shane, a teacher at the Ares Royal Academy. I'm not a suspicious person."

He showed her a staff ID from the academy, but she couldn't tell if it was real or fake. However, the man didn't seem to be lying, and she thought she could escape using magic if necessary, so she agreed.

Upon hearing the details, it turned out he had indeed come to scout her. It seems that the academy's potions teacher was retiring due to old age, and they had heard about her from a knight.

She found it strange that a teacher would hear about her from a knight, but she would understand later.

In the end, the conditions were good, and the opportunity to work in a field where she could apply what she had learned was too good to pass up, so she decided to accept.

Since then, I have been working as a potions teacher at the Ares Royal Academy.
