The Twenty-Fifth Sentence Part 2
Pu Tao never thought that the day after she fell in love, she would be able to meet her boyfriend’s friends.
Especially when her boyfriend was Cheng Su.
That’s why when she faced the group of men and women of similar ages, her fear became small and almost disappeared because of her achievement.
She was even more aware of how honorable it was to be introduced to his friends. It was like she was being awarded with a shiny medal from Cheng Su and he had pinned it to her chest so that everyone present could witness their incredibly romantic love story play out.
When Cheng Su pulled out the chair for her, the prologue began and the female lead appeared.
Pu Tao tried to comfort herself with these thoughts. She sat in her seat calmly. Fortunately, to her right was Cheng Su, and to her left was store manager Yong who she had met before. She was someone familiar, so Pu Tao was more comfortable.
Yong Jingshu gave her a friendly greeting, “Hello again, Miss Pu.”
Pu Tao smiled. “Just call me Pu Tao.”
“Okay.” Yong Jingshu smiled and patted the person next to her. “This is my husband.”
“I know, he is Cheng Su’s childhood friend.”
The man gave her a friendly look.
Yong Jingshu passed over the tea menu and joked with her husband. “It seems like Pu Tao has done her homework.”
Pu Tao’s face became slightly hot and she flipped through the menu.
Cheng Su talked to some of the friends near him. He was paying attention to what was happening with the corner of his eyes. He saw that his sensitive girlfriend, who was afraid of the truth, might try to hide. He immediately leaned over to protect her. “Don’t embarrass her.”
Yong Jingshu complained, “Who would try to embarrass Boss Cheng’s sweetheart?”
Cheng Su didn’t say a word. He just made a “you better not try anything” expression.
His eyes returned to Pu Tao. “Have you ordered yet?”
Pu Tao slowly looked through the drink list. “Not yet.”
“Take your time. I’ll have what you have.” He didn’t mind following what his girlfriend wanted.
Pu Tao understood what he meant.
The way he showed affection without any consideration of the people around him made them feel nauseous and they tried to tease the couple.
Cheng Su pretended to be mad, but it had no effect. It resulted in more aggressive teasing.
Pu Tao covered her lips and snickered. He probably has no patience when he’s with his friends. That’s why everyone is acting so extra.
Next was the Werewolf game, and Pu Tao’s acting impressed everyone.
She looked innocent and quiet, but she was a master at playing with other people’s minds.
She spoke a lot, which controlled the atmosphere, and she was extremely logical. Sometimes, she would put on a fake identity to manipulate the situation, and completely change everything.
In the end, one of Cheng Su’s friends whined and pointed out, “Cheng Su, your girlfriend is so confusing. You better be careful of being deceived.”
Cheng Su was a little proud and dealt with the complaint by saying, “If you lose, then you lose. Just accept it.”
For the next round, Cheng Su volunteered to be the moderator.
Yong Jingshu reshuffled the cards and passed them out to everyone.
When everyone finished looking at their card, Cheng Su got up and began to direct the game.
Pu Tao got the queen card, which was the witch character.
The game began and the room became quiet.
“It’s getting dark. Please close your eyes.”
Cheng Su’s voice was always good at producing a scene. It was paced, and seeped from the eardrum into the other senses. It was to the point where Pu Tao’s empty imagination turned into a moonlit courtyard.
“Werewolf, please open your eyes.”
“Werewolf, choose a person to kill.”
“Werewolf, please close your eyes.”
…
“Witch, please open your eyes.”
Pu Tao was so immersed in the situation that she forgot the witch was her for a moment.
Cheng Su looked around the whole table. He frowned and repeated, “Witch, please open your eyes.”
He accentuated the word witch.
Pu Tao was alarmed and immediately opened her eyes wide.
Cheng Su looked and finally found the sluggish little witch.
He fixed his attention on her and his lips moved. “You have a bottle of poison and a bottle of antidote. You can poison someone or save someone. Do you have anyone you want to poison?”
Pu Tao shook her head.
Cheng Su continued, “The one who was killed last night was this person. Do you want to save the person?”
Pu Tao looked towards the direction he pointed at. She carefully scanned the man’s position and expression, and finally shook her head. Her eyes were pretty certain.
She closed her eyes and put on the expression she had when the game started.
Cheng Su stared at her eyelashes and sighed on the inside. She really saw something and knew at a glance who the wolf was.
Maybe she really has an IQ of 180, and I was deceived like a turtle trapped in a jar.
As he thought this, he asked, “Do you want to be saved?”
Pu Tao opened her eyes again, and didn’t understand what was going on. In the next moment, the man’s breath covered her and there was strong pressure on her lips.
It happened in a flash, and Pu Tao was so aroused that her heart could not stop beating. She touched her lips and looked around in surprise. Fortunately, everyone was well-behaved and no one was peeking.
It was extremely quiet, and extremely exciting. Out of nowhere, he took the chance to kiss her, but also knew that she wouldn’t expose him..
Pu Tao’s eyes showed that she knew it was wrong for him to do that. She gave a menacing glance to the culprit, and suddenly grinded her teeth.
Cheng Su smiled silently, and then made a serious reminder. “Okay. Witch, please close your eyes.”
Pu Tao reluctantly closed her eyes and wrinkled her nose.
It happened so suddenly that her beating heart could not stop at all. It was pounding like a basketball being thrown between ten thousand people.
In the next round, she was really confused and could not make a reasonable judgment. Her speech was unclear and she couldn’t convey what she wanted to say.
It’s all his fault!
There was a lot of disagreement about her abnormal acting. Some people said that she was keeping a low profile and pretending to be innocent so that she could win against everyone in the next round.
Cheng Su looked at her the entire time, with a smile in his eyes.
Pu Tao covered her head with her hands. There was nothing she could do now that everyone had made their assumptions about her character.
Why? Why? She was the one holding the antidote bottle. Yet, she was poisoned by him and she couldn’t say anything.
