"Scene! Confirm the lighting, audio, screen, and camera."

"Lighting is normal," "Audio is normal," "Everything is normal, PDnim."

In the control room, the news team's PD heard the responses in the earpiece, nodded, and casually waved his hand, his tone somewhat dismissive, "Alright, alright, ten seconds to countdown, prompter ready, Mr. Pei, no problem, right?"

"No problem."

In the studio, a large LED background screen displayed a panoramic view of Seoul's urban landscape, with the Hangang Bridge diagonally spanning the entire screen. The bridge was emblazoned with the large letters "MBCNEWSLIVE." It was exactly 7:00 PM, the time for the live news broadcast.

Behind a U-shaped glossy black table, a young man in formal attire sat alone. His face was cold and dignified, with neatly parted hair styled in a slicked-back manner. His features were sharp and refined, very handsome, with smooth facial lines, neither sunken nor protruding. Especially his profile, which attracted many female staff members to stop and watch.

If there was one flaw, it might be... his ears were a bit large?

When he made eye contact with people in the control room, he would show a gentle smile.

He was the most amiable when he smiled, and the most serious when he didn't.

Due to his personality and the demands of his job, he was more mature and steady than his peers. Privately, he was very approachable and had good relationships with many people at the TV station.

At that moment, he was intently reviewing the news script in his hand. As the countdown in his ear reached one, he looked up at the camera and began his news broadcast.

"Camera 3, start, Mr. Pei."

"Good evening, dear viewers. The live news of MBCNEWSLIVE is now beginning. I am the news anchor, Pei Xian."

Pei Xian, currently 24 years old, graduated from the Department of Journalism and Broadcasting at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. After obtaining his degree, he could have directly joined major media TV stations but chose to enlist in the military instead. After his discharge, he was hired by MBC TV, where he has been working ever since.

"At 6:00 PM today, a man-made fire broke out at Lotte World in Songpa District, Seoul. Hundreds of tourists and citizens were successfully evacuated, fortunately with no casualties. The arsonist was arrested by the police during the escape. Please stay tuned for a detailed report from our on-site reporter, Kim Ik-kyun."

The PD in the control room listened to the unique, deep, and cool voice in his earpiece and smiled, curling his lips. After working together for so long, he could still marvel at what a good voice it was. He smiled, shook his head, and pressed the broadcast button. The large screen then showed the scene at Lotte World, where firefighters were still extinguishing the fire.

"Very good~ Mr. Pei, continue in half a minute."

Pei Xian sat upright in his chair, his back straight. During work, his face always wore a serious expression as he attentively read the news script in his hand. In fact, he had already memorized it perfectly. Now, he was just passing the time for the few seconds of the on-site report.

His gaze inadvertently glanced at the time on his watch: 19:03 PM...

His mind recalled the message his twin sister had sent him when he left home that morning.

As summer approached and the weather got warmer, his parents wanted the two siblings to live together for mutual support, as Seoul was not their hometown, Daegu.

However, she wanted to return to her dorm to continue her efforts for her debut, asking him to buy some late-night snacks and bring them to her.

'This Pei Zhyeon is really... The company is eager for her debut, and she's getting more and more temperamental with her brother.'

Pei Xian has a sister, a twin sister named Pei Zhyeon, who is a trainee and is about to debut.

According to his parents, since his sister was born a few minutes earlier, he is the younger brother.

...He had no idea who was born first. When Pei Xian accepted this fact and regained his sight, he was only five years old.

Before that, he was a completely blank slate.

Nineteen years ago,

He originally did not belong here. Due to a fall from a building, an accident occurred, and when he woke up again, he was in the hospital.

But,

It was not the world he originally belonged to.

A new environment, new family, new life.

Five years of memories flooded his young mind, chaotic and abnormal, causing a sharp pain in his brain. He slept for a day and a night before fully regaining consciousness.

After regaining consciousness, the concern and instructions from his family and doctors made him unable to speak.

He couldn't remember those five years of memories.

Pei Xian.

This was the first word he heard when he regained consciousness.

His name, which he accepted, and had to accept.
