Her timely faint successfully distracted everyone and they no longer cared about poetry. They all came around in a panic to check on her.

“Miss Lei Lei!”

“Are you alright?”

“What’s wrong?”

Someone said to find a doctor, and someone else said to find a carriage first. An incident had happened during a good poetry meet. Old Mr Cai sighed repeatedly and Leng Zui was also overwhelmed.

The young master was also shocked, “This… Miss Lei? Miss Lei!”

All the poems have been recited by you guys, if I don’t faint I would be too embarrassed! Lei Lei half lay in the young master’s arms. She had never thought that her fainting would have such a sensational effect and there was no way to back down. She could only keep her eyes tightly closed and continue to pretend to have fainted.

“Everyone, no need to panic,” Qin Liu Feng brushed the crowd aside, “I also know a thing or two about the medicine. Allow me to take a look before making any decisions.”

What was he going to do?! Lei Lei was vigilant and secretly opened her eyes a crack. She saw Qin Liu Feng leaning over, his handsome face getting closer with high eyebrows and a half smile that always looked a little… malicious.

There was a thud in her heart and the hairs on her neck started to stand up.

This guy was coming for revenge!

Qin Liu Feng looked at her carefully for a while, then reached out to take her pulse. Suddenly, he stood up straight.

Everyone asked hurriedly, “How is it?”

“It’s alright, it’s alright,” Qin Liu Feng had a plan in mind, “Miss Lei is in a state of heart attack. Years ago, I learned acupuncture with the medicine obsessed Old Mr Bo for a few days. Now, I’ll use a few needles on Miss Lei Lei and it will definitely be fine.”

As he spoke, he took out a small box from his chest and opened it. There were several long needles inside.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, “I’ve never heard that Brother Qin also knows medical skills, this is great!”

If they had never heard of it, then it must mean that this was not professional! Lei Lei snorted in fright and slowly opened her eyes, pretending to wake up.

Everyone was overjoyed, “Good, she woke up!”

Qin Liu Feng showed a regretful expression. The silver needle in his hand shone coldly, “What do you think, Miss Lei Lei? Why don’t I treat you with a few needles and remove the root cause?”

“No need, no need,” Lei Lei held her forehead and gritted her teeth. She said softly, “I’m fine, just a little dizzy. I must have caught a cold from being blown by the wind outside just now. You all keep composing poetry, don’t worry about me.”

Qin Liu Feng had a sudden idea, “So it turned out to be a cold, then it needs to be cured.”

Seeing that he was so keen on giving her acupuncture treatment, everyone nodded in agreement, “Since you’re sick, you need to be healed promptly, otherwise it’ll become a major syndrome in the future. Look, her complexion is so poor.”

Lei Lei had a pale face and tightly clutched the young master’s front lapel. Her palms were slightly sweaty.

The young master suddenly held her and stood up, “Best not disturb everyone’s mood, I’ll take her back first.” He nodded apologetically to everyone, then without waiting for Qin Liu Feng to agree, he went straight downstairs.

Our “Xiao Bai” was the best! Lei Lei quietly raised an eyebrow at Qin Liu Feng.

His pace was steady and his warm embrace was very comfortable. The coldness outside was not so terrible. Lei Lei put her arms around his neck and buried her face into his shoulder.

The young master carried her into the carriage, then instructed the coachman, “Let’s go back.”

Hoofbeats sounded, followed by creaking as the carriage moved forward slowly.

In the carriage, the young master let go of her, “Alright.”

Lei Lei lay in his arms, closed her eyes, and pretended to be dead.

The young master said, “Get up.”

Lei Lei squinted her eyes and said vaguely, “Xiao Bai, my head hurts…”

The young master’s mouth twitched, “Stop pretending.” He threw her aside.

As expected of Young Master Xiao, he had already seen through her schemes! Lei Lei shrank sullenly into a corner, “I’m just… not happy!”

The young master looked at her, “Didn’t Brother Qin arrive in the end?”

He came neither earlier or later, but just came to steal her poem! Lei Lei was silent. She could not express her bitterness when the crux of the matter was that she had not created that poem to begin with so she had no right to accuse him of plagiarised. She could only blame herself for carelessly taking a step too late.

The young master was silent for a moment, then said, “Looking up at the bright moon, bowing my head to ponder about my hometown. It is indeed a good poem.”

Lei Lei rolled her eyes, “What’s so good about it, even children can read it. Your’s was better than his!”

The young master shook his head, “Miss Leng’s words were better.”

They were all plagiarised, Lei Lei snorted.

The young master glanced at her and stopped talking.

So-called good things could only happen in dreams, and bad things when mentioned would come true. Lei Lei had just pretended to be sick but she really felt a bit uncomfortable when they returned to the village. She slept until midnight when all of a sudden, she felt hot all over. Her mouth felt dry and she had a splitting headache.

It was so late and so cold out. How could she bother other people?

Her throat was so dry it was about to start smoking. She fought back the dizziness and reluctantly got up to light the lamp. She wanted to pour water to drink, but in the blink of an eye, she suddenly saw the flame was like a bean and the room was filled with shadows, seeming more deserted and lonely. A sick person was very sensitive and in this situation, Lei Lei felt depressed for no reason and began to cry.

“Why are you crying?” A warm voice rang in her ears and a pair of hands held her shoulders.

Lei Lei turned around.

His beauty was unlike all the faces in the world and in his black eyes, there was a smile as warm as the spring sun. Yet, he was as cold as ice in his snowy white clothes.

Lei Lei stared at him in a daze.

Shang Guan Qiu Yue reached out and touched her face, then understood, “Sick?”

With beauty in front of her eyes, Lei Lei suddenly did not feel dizzy anymore and her eyes were no longer dazzled. She hastily turned to look at the closed door that was now half open. She really did not know how he opened it.

Shang Guan Qiu Yue wiped away her tears, “What does a little illness matter? Elder Brother is here.”

The two sentences were so short, but the words sounded so warm in her ears. Who else besides family would care for you unconditionally like this? At this moment, Lei Lei completely abandoned her preconceptions about this person, feeling both ashamed and regretful. She hugged his waist, tears streaming down her cheeks and said, “Brother.”

Shang Guan Qiu Yue pried her hands away, “Let go quickly, go back and lie down.”

Openly taking advantage of her brother, Lei Lei nuzzled against his chest, “Won’t let go.”

Shang Guan Qiu Yue no longer forced her. He smiled and asked, “With your illness like this, why do you keep holding on to your brother?”

Lei Lei looked up at him and blinked, “To tease you.”

Shang Guan Qiu Yue was stunned.

Lei Lei felt triumphant and continued to nuzzle.

Shang Guan Qiu Yue suddenly laughed. He lowered his head and lifted her chin at the same time, their eyes meeting, “Go lie down on the bed first and then Elder Brother will let you tease more, okay?”

Her movements froze and Lei Lei drew in a cold breath. She said with a strange smile, “You…want me to tease you?”

Shang Guan Qiu Yue nodded earnestly and added in a soft voice, “You can tease me a little more.”

Lei Lei was speechless. She immediately let him go and wiped her sweat with her hand, muttering, “It’s really hot…”

Shang Guan Qiu Yue picked her up and placed her on the bed.

“Elder Brother, your thoughts are too progressive and open-minded, even I can’t keep up!” Lei Lei, shocked and surprised but at least she did not forget the most important matter, “I want some water!”

“Alright, you lie down obediently.” Shang Guan Qiu Yue pulled the blanket over her and poured a cup of water at the table, handing it to her.
