Chapter 95

"Hyun-ah, Unnie Tae Yeon and Oppa Kyung Myung are really similar." Yoon Ah, with her mouth still full of meat, suddenly looked at the standoff between Lee Kyung Myung and Kim Tae Yeon and said.

"Hmm, I didn't expect people with childlike faces to be so childish." Tiffany seemed to have noticed something. "Ah, I just realized they're wearing matching outfits today."

Lee Kyung Myung was wearing the clothes he used for performances, a simple and fresh white shirt and black dress pants. Kim Tae Yeon was also wearing a white shirt, but with black casual pants, which really did look like a matching outfit with Lee Kyung Myung.

Lee Kyung Myung shook his head with a smile. "This is clearly just the summer school uniform from middle school. How can it be a matching outfit with me?"

"Middle school uniform? Even if it's a uniform, it's a high school uniform!" Kim Tae Yeon argued, endlessly insisting she was a middle schooler, but her patience had its limits. "Ah!"

Lee Kyung Myung was startled; Kim Tae Yeon was actually about to bite him. "Hey, are you a puppy? Why are you trying to bite me?"

"They really do match, hehe." Tiffany, looking at Lee Kyung Myung and Kim Tae Yeon's playful interaction, blurted out something she shouldn't have. After saying it, she noticed Jessica's gaze, which was as cold as ice, and froze, not daring to move.

Jessica was furious. There must be something between these two; they cooperated so well in giving her a hard time. Not only did she get the short end of the stick, but they were even flirting in public while wearing matching outfits. What was worse, Yoon Ah and Tiffany were saying things like "they look alike" and "they match." Jessica felt her patience was about to reach its limit.

"They don't match at all." Sulli, with her big, clear eyes, said seriously, "Books say that people with similar personalities rarely become couples, and there's a big height difference."

Jessica nodded vigorously at this. Sulli was the one who understood the situation.

Kim Tae Yeon, with her mouth open, looked at Sulli's serious face. She didn't care about the personality similarity, but the height difference comment was unbearable. "Hey, little one, I'm your unnie and senior. How dare you say I'm short? I won't let you off easily today."

Sulli, who never held back her words, felt a bit guilty after saying it. "Unnie, I didn't mean you're really short, just that there's a big difference with Oppa Kyung Myung. And in South Korea, women are generally not very tall. Many great people in the world are short but have achieved a lot, like Napoleon, Lenin, and Deng Xiaoping..."

Sulli's explanation only made Kim Tae Yeon angrier. She pounced on Sulli, pinching and squeezing her face until she was satisfied, then let go. "If I catch you talking about my height again, you know what will happen." Kim Tae Yeon finished by making a throat-slitting gesture, which meant "I'll kill you."

Sulli, who was physically and strength-wise much stronger than Kim Tae Yeon, never overstepped the age hierarchy and could only endure it silently. She was always the one who got picked on by the seniors.

Jessica was initially happy when Sulli said Kim Tae Yeon and Lee Kyung Myung didn't match, but then she realized the reason: height! Jessica's height was on the same level as Kim Tae Yeon's—158 cm for Jessica and 161.5 cm for Kim Tae Yeon. The difference was minimal. Now, Sulli's words included Jessica as well.

Sulli had already been scolded by Kim Tae Yeon, so Jessica couldn't say anything more. But there were still two people who hadn't been punished. Yoon Ah was enjoying her meat, stuffing her mouth full of it. Jessica was annoyed just looking at her. "Yoon Ah, just eat your meat. If you don't talk, no one will think you're mute. Is the dinner table a place to talk freely?"

"Unnie, you're talking to me, and I'm ignoring you?" Jessica saw Yoon Ah pretending not to hear and just kept eating. She was always eating and never gained weight, which was infuriating. "Hmph!"

Yoon Ah finally swallowed the big chunk of meat in her mouth. "Unnie, you're the one who said not to talk at the dinner table."

"Still talking back!" Jessica was about to lose her temper. She had never seen Yoon Ah be so obedient before.

"And you, Pani." Jessica turned to Tiffany, ready to scold her, but Tiffany's expression made her laugh and cry at the same time. The cute girl looked like a primary school student who had done something wrong.

Jessica, being too soft-hearted, saw Tiffany's expression and felt like a primary school teacher facing a well-behaved student. She decided to let it go for today and sighed, "I'm always too soft, too soft, and end up carrying all the problems myself..." (A song that reflects the generation gap)

Tiffany had already realized her words were problematic. Saying that Lee Kyung Myung and Kim Tae Yeon matched in front of Jessica was asking for trouble. While Jessica was talking to Yoon Ah, Tiffany had braced herself for a storm, but Jessica let it go so easily.

The dinner was still enjoyable, after all, it was a celebration for Lee Kyung Myung's first place, and they were eating barbecue. Lee Kyung Myung had ordered pork belly, beef, and even Korean beef. How could anyone not enjoy it? Despite the playful bickering and minor "conflicts," this was a new experience for Lee Kyung Myung, one filled with warmth. At home, they couldn't talk during meals, and after eating, they had to discuss serious matters. They had to think about what to say during meals, so everyone was preoccupied, making the atmosphere very dull. When he ate with Ahn Han Gyeon, Song Seok Jae, and Baek Hak Kyum, the atmosphere was good, but it was a different kind of interaction, more about joking and talking about trivial matters. Eating with Jessica's friends gave him a completely different feeling.

After eating his fill, Lee Kyung Myung felt a bit bored and started thinking like an older man, looking for something interesting to do. He subtly touched Jessica's leg under the table and gave her a meaningful look. Jessica thought Lee Kyung Myung was trying to make a move on her, feeling conflicted: should she give in or not?

Seeing Jessica's lack of response and her furrowed brow, Lee Kyung Myung wondered if she was hesitating because she felt bad about pranking her friends. Finally, Jessica turned to look at him, but instead of seeing a "can't hold back" expression, she saw his eyebrows dancing. Lee Kyung Myung was giving her a signal, and she immediately understood that he wanted her to go out for a moment. It was almost like telepathy.

"I need to go to the restroom. You can keep eating." Jessica wiped her mouth and said to the others.

"I'll accompany you." Lee Kyung Myung stood up politely.

Tiffany smiled with her eyes closed. "Oppa Kyung Myung is such a gentleman, so considerate."

"He's really a good man." Yoon Ah, perhaps because of the meat Lee Kyung Myung had treated her to, also started saying nice things.

After a while, Tiffany's phone buzzed with a text. She read it and said apologetically, "A friend from my high school saw me outside. I'll go say hello and be right back. Keep eating, I'll be back soon."

"I'll go with you. It's not safe for you to go alone this late." Kim Tae Yeon, with her keen eyes, saw through Tiffany's act.

When only Yoon Ah and Sulli were left at the table, Sulli noticed something was off. "Yoon Ah Unnie, why are Sica Unnie and Oppa Kyung Myung taking so long?"

"Ah, you're too young to understand. They might be doing something intimate in the restroom." Yoon Ah, still focused on the last pieces of meat, said casually.

"Unnie, please don't say such things." Sulli blushed at the topic. "But why are Pani Unnie and the others taking so long?"

"Meeting a friend, maybe they're having a drink. No, we should go too..." Yoon Ah, still savoring the taste of the barbecue, realized they might be pranked. Sure enough, before she could stand up, the owner of the barbecue restaurant approached with a piece of paper, clearly a bill.

"Miss, you've eaten enough. Please pay the bill." The owner, an elderly woman around sixty, smiled kindly, but to Yoon Ah, it looked like the devil's smile. She didn't know the exact amount, but with so much food, it had to be at least a million won. She was just a high school student, and the only extra money she had earned was from a MV appearance.

"Wait, my brother-in-law went to the restroom. He'll be back to pay." Yoon Ah explained.

"You mean the one who was with you? He's already gone." The owner's words shattered Yoon Ah's last hope. It was clear now that Tiffany's text wasn't from a friend but a coordinated prank by Lee Kyung Myung and Jessica. She had been pranked for a simple joke.

"Can I call for help now?" Yoon Ah asked, hoping to salvage the situation.

"Of course, you can even call the police." The old lady's sense of humor was no joke.

Yoon Ah called Jessica, relieved that she answered. "Unnie, where did you go?"

"I'm not feeling well, so I had Oppa take me home." Jessica said on the other end.

"But we haven't paid the bill yet. How can you leave?" Yoon Ah still thought it was real.

"Ah, I was too sick, so I forgot." Jessica added, her acting skills terrible, and Kim Tae Yeon's signature laugh in the background made it clear to Yoon Ah that she was being pranked. "Unnie, stop playing. I'm about to call the police."

"Then act cute. Maybe they'll think you're so pretty and introduce you to their grandson as a wife, and forgive the bill." Jessica couldn't hold back her laughter and burst out laughing.

"Please act cute. If it pleases me, I'll forgive the bill." The old lady, hearing Jessica's words, played along with Yoon Ah.

"Biong, Biong!" Yoon Ah did the most expensive act of cuteness in her seventeen years. If it worked, it would be worth a million won. She felt more nervous than during her company's mid-term exams.

"Alright, take it." The old lady didn't make it difficult and handed over the piece of paper. It wasn't a bill but a piece of paper with a ghost face drawn on it. She patted Yoon Ah's head, "Aww, so cute. The gentleman who was with you has already paid."

Because of Lee Kyung Myung's prank, the dinner was a thrilling experience for Yoon Ah, like a roller coaster ride. But instead of learning her lesson, she started planning her revenge.
