Elder Qin said with a full voice, "Of course I'm fine, I feel better than ever now."
"Regardless, we should still check on the leader first," a clear and cold voice said. The speaker was a young female doctor in her twenties, wearing a white coat and glasses.
Elder Qin glanced at Yang Qi beside him and said to the female doctor not far away, "Doctor Sun, there's no need to check on me. You should check on this young friend instead."
Only then did Doctor Sun notice Yang Qi. When she saw his pale face, she was slightly taken aback. Was it Elder Qin who was ill, or was it this young man? Why did the ill Elder Qin look so radiant, while the young man in his twenties looked so pale?
"Elder Qin, I'm really fine," Yang Qi shook his head. He indeed had nothing serious, just a sudden large consumption of his energy and mental strength.
"Would you like to rest for a moment?" Doctor Sun stepped forward and asked.
"I think... no... need..." Yang Qi was about to refuse when he suddenly felt dizzy and fell down directly.
"Thud~"
In the next moment, two figures fell on the lawn, one on top of the other. Yang Qi's waving hands happened to press down on Doctor Sun below him.
Doctor Sun, who had never been so intimately touched by a man, felt as if she had been electrocuted. Her body trembled, her face turned red, and she tried to push Yang Qi off her a few times but failed. She quickly said to the few people standing by, "Hurry up and pull him away."
The others, who had never seen the usually cold and distant Doctor Sun in such a flustered state, stifled their laughter and quickly separated Yang Qi and Doctor Sun.
When Doctor Sun stood up, there were two handprints on her white coat, left by the sweat from Yang Qi's palms due to the excessive consumption of energy while healing Elder Qin.
Elder Qin, however, was not concerned about these details. He hurriedly asked, "How is Yang Qi?"
"He's fine, just very tired, so he fell asleep," a medical staff member said hesitantly.
Hearing this, Elder Qin let out a sigh of relief. If anything had happened to Yang Qi because of him, he would have felt very guilty.
"Are you saying he's not dead?" At this moment, a voice full of coldness came from the side.
Hearing this, everyone swallowed hard and silently mourned for Yang Qi. You could just sleep, but why did you have to sleep with Doctor Sun as well?
"Cough, cough~" Elder Qin coughed lightly and said, "Well... let's take Yang Qi to my place to rest first."
In a daze, Yang Qi felt as if he was lying on a sponge. When he opened his eyes again, he saw a beautifully decorated bedroom.
"If I had known, I wouldn't have shown off," Yang Qi said with a bitter smile, feeling the emptiness in his dantian.
Although he said this, Yang Qi did not regret it, especially after sensing the over a hundred hidden injuries on Elder Qin. He had no regrets about his decision.
"Still, my cultivation is too low. If I had reached the Martial Artist realm, I wouldn't be in such a sorry state," Yang Qi suddenly realized that his cultivation, which he once thought was not weak, was still far from sufficient.
"Mr. Yang, you're awake? I'll go get Elder Qin right away." At this moment, a medical staff member walked in and, seeing Yang Qi awake, quickly left.
A few minutes later, Elder Qin came to Yang Qi's room, and the others were asked to leave.
Seeing this, Yang Qi knew that Elder Qin was about to talk about something related to the energy inside his body.
"Thanks to you today, if you hadn't acted, my life would have been in danger," Elder Qin said gratefully, looking at Yang Qi on the bed.
"Elder Qin, there's no need for such gratitude. I just did a little bit," Yang Qi quickly shook his head.
"Great kindness doesn't need thanks. If we get along well, if you don't mind, I'll call you Brother Yang, and you can call me Brother Qin, how about that?" Elder Qin said with a smile.
"Ah~" Yang Qi was stunned. What kind of joke was this? Elder Qin could be his grandfather, and he wanted him to call him "Brother?"
Seeing Yang Qi's stunned expression, Elder Qin's face turned slightly displeased, "What, Brother Yang, do you look down on me?"
"No, no, Elder Qin, that's not what I mean," Yang Qi quickly said.
"That's better. Since that's not what you mean, you're willing to call me Brother, right?" Elder Qin laughed heartily.
"Elder... Brother..." Yang Qi opened his mouth, looking helpless as he called out.
Elder Qin smiled proudly and then said seriously, "Brother Yang, if I'm not mistaken, the energy you used to heal me earlier was true qi, right?"
Yang Qi nodded. According to Huo Yang's memories, different civilizations had different names for energy, but in the vast universe, it was generally called "yuanli" (primordial energy).
"I didn't expect that after several decades, I would still meet a martial artist with true qi," Elder Qin said with a sigh.
Yang Qi opened his mouth to speak but found Elder Qin staring at him. He changed his words with a bitter smile, "Elder... Brother... have you met other martial artists?"
Elder Qin nodded and said slowly, "The great war that affected China involved many people, including some extraordinary individuals and martial artists. My old friend who taught me Tai Chi was a martial artist with true qi. However, due to the rules of his school, he only taught me the boxing techniques. Even so, ordinary seven or eight people were no match for me."
Yang Qi nodded slightly. At his peak, Elder Qin's strength was roughly equivalent to that of an ordinary two-star martial apprentice. If combined with true qi, his strength would be even greater.
"It seems this world is not as simple as I thought," a glint of insight flashed in Yang Qi's eyes. This world was much more fascinating than he originally knew.
"The great war caused heavy losses to China. The surviving extraordinary individuals and martial artists chose to retreat and hide, and their legends became fewer and fewer," Elder Qin sighed lightly.
Yang Qi agreed. If he hadn't truly become a martial artist, he wouldn't have believed in the legends of true qi.
"Unfortunately, my cultivation is limited, and I couldn't completely heal Brother's injuries," Yang Qi sighed.
"You've done your best, and I appreciate it," Elder Qin shook his head. Suddenly, he seemed to realize something and said urgently, "Wait, Brother Yang, are you saying that if your cultivation was higher, you could completely heal my injuries?"
Yang Qi nodded. If his cultivation reached the Martial Artist level, although he couldn't heal Elder Qin's hidden injuries all at once, he could gradually heal them over time.
Seeing Yang Qi nod, Elder Qin became excited. These injuries, though a testament to his life of military service, had brought him decades of pain. Sometimes he even wanted to give up, but now, there was hope for a cure!
"Brother Yang, when do you think you'll have the strength to heal Brother's injuries?" Elder Qin asked urgently. If Yang Qi needed ten or twenty years to heal his injuries, even if the hidden injuries didn't flare up, he might not live that long.
