### Chapter 6: I Need a Bodyguard

"Master has completely changed, you know?"

"You saw it too? He seems to have gained a bit of weight!"

"No, before that, he was walking around on his own!"

"He was breathing much better on his own too!"

"From the sounds of his training in the practice hall, it seems he's recovering his health!"

The servants of the Hickers family would gossip about Eidan whenever they met.

From their conversations, it seemed that Eidan, who had previously been unable to walk, had started to walk on his own, and his breathing had become much easier. Some servants were even happy that he no longer spat blood.

"When the Earl returns, he'll be really pleased."

Eidan, the subject of this sudden change, was in his room.

'I need to go out for a bit. I should probably take my real sword and armor.'

There was something else he needed to do.

"I need to write a subscription review."

Thanks to Hyejun, he was living like this, so he intended to write a subscription review for him.

Eidan went straight to the training ground to prepare the subscription review.

"Hmm. It's definitely better to leave a video review. But how do I do that?"

As soon as Eidan mentioned a video review, the [New World] opened, and a notification window appeared.

- Do you want to leave a subscription review?

- Currently, you can leave a subscription review for [Hyejun] and [Hercules]. If you want a video review, say 'video review' and then move.

Leaving a video review was simple. Saying 'video review' would start the recording, and saying 'end' would stop it.

'I remember the Hercules subscription review was edited.'

He thought that if he cut out the beginning and end, it would look like it was edited.

'I've watched MyTube for a long time.'

He didn't know the editing techniques, but he knew the points to cut and keep.

Moreover, he wasn't trying to create an amazing video, just a clean one.

"Hercules doesn't need a subscription review right now."

'From what I can tell, leaving a subscription review seems to give you something.'

But he didn't think it would be anything significant.

Eidan immediately recorded a video of himself practicing Hyejun's acupuncture and herbal medicine techniques and showing their effects. He also added a fairly long comment.

It was a rough description of how amazing Hyejun's acupuncture was. Mixing exaggeration with truth, he managed to write a convincing review.

'I used to write product reviews and even got selected as an excellent review.'

Once he started, he wouldn't do it half-heartedly, so he wrote the review with genuine sincerity.

He didn't think it would be selected as an excellent review, but he remembered earning a lot of points from writing reviews multiple times.

"Alright, done."

With the video and a heartfelt review.

This should be enough to make people who want to subscribe to Hyejun, the Eastern All-Healing Doctor, press the subscribe button after reading his review.

-[New World] First Subscription Review!

-[New World] Please set a nickname for your use.

-The subscription review will be posted under the set nickname.

'Nickname.'

Setting a nickname was very important.

He had once spent half a day to come up with an appropriate nickname, but for the current Eidan, it was a luxury.

'There are so many things I can do in half a day.'

Eidan's days were precious.

He was maintaining and improving his health with Hyejun's acupuncture and the Hero's Breath, so worrying about a nickname?

'A luxury, a luxury.'

Eidan immediately set his nickname.

-You have set your nickname as [Only Subscribe to Proper Gods]!

After setting his nickname, Eidan immediately posted the subscription review.

During the days he spent focusing on training, Earl Hickers returned.

Earl Hickers had a rather strong presence.

A robust noble with a long mustache, he wore a sword at his waist and a robe, typical of a sword mage.

"Where is Eidan! Tell Eidan to come immediately!"

The Earl looked quite urgent.

The steward quickly brought Eidan, who was training.

"Eidan! How have you been? I've brought something really good this time. This will definitely help you!"

"I appreciate your efforts."

Eidan bowed politely and observed Earl Hickers.

Although Earl Hickers was his father, this was the first time Eidan saw him in this body.

'He must have really cared.'

The Earl looked at Eidan with a worried expression and held the item he brought with both hands, as if it were extremely precious.

Whatever he was holding, he seemed to believe it would improve Eidan's health.

"Ha ha, listen to how amazing this is. You must have been curious about why I went out this time. I was looking for medicine through various channels and heard about a panacea made by an alchemist from the Magic Tower. I went straight there. When I told him about your condition, he said this would help and gave it to me. Of course, it was expensive, but wouldn't you think it was worth it for you!"

In an excited state, the Earl handed the item to Eidan.

It was a long story, but Eidan could feel the Earl's love. He must have returned to the estate at full speed after purchasing it.

Eidan took the item from the Earl and immediately opened it.

"Ugh."

A terrible stench came from inside, and a thick, nauseating liquid was inside.

"Is this... medicine?"

"Yes, a panacea! Of course, it doesn't smell good, and it doesn't look great, but..."

There's a saying that good medicine tastes bad, so it might be effective.

However, he couldn't help but grimace as he looked at it, and the Earl spoke up.

"By the way, you seem to have changed a lot."

In fact, there wasn't much change. He had gained a bit of muscle under his clothes, but he still looked very thin.

A frail young man.

Still, his father seemed to see a difference and approached Eidan, touching his cheek.

"Indeed, you've gained some weight! The new chef I brought must be quite skilled!"

The Earl observed Eidan closely.

His son, who had always been nothing but bones and had difficulty walking and breathing, was now standing with a strangely correct posture. His breathing didn't look difficult, and there was a slight muscle on his arm. His hollow cheeks were slightly filled out, and he even had a wooden sword at his waist.

Of course, his eyes still had a frail, distant look.

The steward explained in detail what had happened while the Earl was away.

The Earl, with a surprised expression, said to Eidan.

"Is this true? You've regained your strength?"

"My condition has improved a bit. It seems to be thanks to the chef you hired. His cooking skills are remarkable."

"This, this is..."

It was lip service, but the food was indeed delicious.

Touched by this, the Earl started to cry.

"It's a celebration. We must have a celebration."

"Father, I'm not fully recovered yet. My condition has only improved a little."

Eidan coughed and tried to stop Earl Hickers.

"I need something. Father."

"Sure, sure. Do you need more medicinal herbs? What do you need?"

Eidan spoke confidently.

"Give me some money."

* * *

Despite the surprising request, the Earl didn't ask for a reason.

500,000 gold was a significant amount, but he readily agreed.

"Don't worry. Money can always be earned, but your life cannot be returned."

The healer had clearly said it was an incurable disease, yet he didn't give up.

At this point, most would have given up, but he didn't.

He was a model of a good father.

'Fortunately, with the Earl's full support, I can definitely make it.'

Eidan first checked the elixir the Earl brought.

He hadn't been able to properly examine it earlier due to its terrifying nature, but the aura it emitted amidst the foul smell was similar to the herbs he knew.

'I've played as an alchemist before.'

The most important thing when playing as an alchemist was to distinguish herbs.

He could identify them by smell, taste, and the unique aura they emitted.

This thick liquid definitely contained precious herbs.

After much thought, he recalled the scent.

'Revelia. The scent of the flower that blooms once every hundred years.'

Eidan poured the elixir into a wide bowl.

"Several herbs are mixed in. It doesn't seem like I was scammed."

The panacea was an exaggeration, but it was undoubtedly a powerful medicine that could significantly strengthen the body or cure most illnesses.

'My condition is just too severe.'

Eidan smiled wryly.

"I received something better than expected."

But he couldn't use it right away.

He needed a skill to separate and recombine the herbs.

'There's a way. I didn't take the money for nothing.'

Eidan prepared to go out.

If he had been healthy enough to walk, he would have started from the day he entered this body.

Currently, thanks to Hyejun's acupuncture, Eidan's health had improved slightly. He was also training his body with Hercules' breathing technique.

'My condition is much better than before.'

It was definitely better than when he first entered this body. However, his frail condition couldn't be resolved with just Hyejun's acupuncture and [New World] subscriptions.

'This is just a temporary solution. I need to meet someone who can completely cure me.'

To meet the Holy Maiden, he needed to leave the Hickers family.

'Actually, staying in the family isn't normal.'

Eidan Hickers was 22 years old.

'You're recognized as an adult at 17. After that, you need to find your own way to live.'

In a prestigious noble family, even non-heirs have many paths, but in a regular family like the Hickers, non-heirs need to find their own way to live.

'Joining a knight's order, becoming a mage, merchant, or administrator.'

But now wasn't the time to decide his path based on long-term future considerations.

'I need to quickly gain fame to meet the Holy Maiden.'

Considering his sword skills, joining a knight's order was a safe choice, but it would be hard to gain fame quickly as a knight.

Most importantly, it was questionable whether he could become a knight in his current condition.

'Then...'

Eidan put the bag of 500,000 gold, given by
