Chapter 13

Liu Da Kui's face changed when he heard these words. Although he didn't want to admit it, he had to admit that Xiao Chen's one sentence could indeed make him leave the company!

If he left the company, what would be the point of sending Xiao Chen to the hospital? At most, it would just be a way to vent his anger!

What he really wanted was for Xiao Chen to be hospitalized, and for him to take over as the department head!

Thinking about this, Liu Da Kui took a deep breath and loosened his clenched fists: "I was wrong in this matter, and I will be more careful in the future!"

Liu Yan Luo had lowered his head!

This surprised many of the security guards. The always domineering Liu Yan Luo had actually lowered his head?

Some people, who enjoyed watching the show, felt a bit disappointed. Why did he back down? It would have been better if they had a fight. They heard that the gym had a fierce fight yesterday, why not today?

"Hehe, since Manager Liu has recognized his mistake, let's let it go this time!" To everyone's surprise, Xiao Chen also became more reasonable, smiling and nodding.

Liu Da Kui let out a breath, but he sneered inwardly. Kid, I'll call Ren Kun right away!

"Manager Liu, do you know why President Su appointed me as the department head?" Xiao Chen lit a cigarette and asked.

"I don't know. President Su must have her reasons!" Liu Da Kui forced out these words, but he was now resentful of Su Qing as well!

"Hehe, President Su indeed has her reasons..." Xiao Chen's voice suddenly turned serious, and he slammed his right hand on the table: "Because the security department has reached a point where it must be reformed!"

The loud sound startled everyone. The security department needed to be reformed? What did that mean?

"Manager Liu, how many security guards were on duty last night?" Xiao Chen asked coldly, looking at Liu Da Kui.

Liu Da Kui frowned and said instinctively: "There should be twelve."

"Twelve security guards? Hmph, with twelve guards on duty, how could a thief get into the president's office?" Xiao Chen said, scanning the crowd and carefully observing their reactions.

Everyone's faces changed when they heard this. A thief got into the president's office?

"What? That's impossible!" Liu Da Kui also widened his eyes.

"Impossible? Do you want me to have President Su come and prove it?" Xiao Chen said coldly.

"That... no, no need." Liu Da Kui shook his head quickly.

"Although nothing was stolen, President Su is very angry, so she wants to reform the security department!" Xiao Chen paused and continued in a serious tone: "Also, I checked the surveillance with President Su, and found nothing unusual..."

"Did you report it to the police?"

"Nothing was stolen, so President Su didn't report it, but she said the security department can't continue to be lazy! I was given this heavy responsibility in a time of crisis..."

Liu Da Kui and others sneered. Nonsense, just for this, it's a crisis?

"As the saying goes, 'In troubled times, strict measures are necessary,' so I've decided to conduct a comprehensive evaluation in the security department!"

A comprehensive evaluation?

The security guards looked at each other, confused. What was this all about?

"Those who pass the evaluation will stay! Those who don't will leave! This is why President Su gave me the authority to decide, so it's up to you whether you stay or go!"

When these words were spoken, everyone's faces changed. Dismissal?

"Ding Li, call the other group of colleagues and have them come to the company for the evaluation... After the evaluation, we'll reorganize the groups..."

"Ah?" Ding Li was stunned, his face full of worry. Would he be dismissed?

"What are you waiting for? Get them back here quickly!" Xiao Chen gave Ding Li a meaningful look.

"Oh, I'll call right away." Ding Li nodded, understanding something.

Xiao Chen then looked at Liu Da Kui: "Manager Liu, as the leader, you are responsible for the thief getting into the president's office, so the evaluation will start with you!"

Liu Da Kui's heart skipped a beat, a bad feeling creeping in: "How will the evaluation be conducted?"

"Hehe, let's go to the gym, and you'll see when we get there!" Xiao Chen said, getting up and walking out.

The gym?

Liu Da Kui's face changed again, the bad feeling growing stronger. Was this guy going to take revenge for yesterday?

Not just him, but the other young men also had their faces change, looking at each other. They all thought the same thing: this new boss was going to use public authority for personal revenge!

At the gym, Xiao Chen leaned against a treadmill and said with a smile: "Manager Liu, you said yesterday that a bodyguard needs sufficient combat ability... I think a security guard also needs strength. Otherwise, how can you protect the company's assets in an emergency?"

"..." Liu Da Kui was certain now, this guy was out for personal revenge!

"Manager Liu, to have strength, you need a strong body. Don't ask for much, just do three hundred push-ups first!"

Liu Da Kui's mouth twitched. Three hundred push-ups? Damn!

"What, Manager Liu, not planning to take the evaluation?" Xiao Chen raised an eyebrow and said coldly.

Liu Da Kui gritted his teeth and endured, temporarily enduring!

"Alright, I'll take the evaluation, but I need to go to the bathroom first!"

"Fine, go quickly, but don't think of running away. Otherwise, I'll have to let you go!"

Liu Da Kui suppressed his anger and walked out quickly. He needed to call Ren Kun and have him bring two experts to deal with this guy!

Xiao Chen watched Liu Da Kui's back, a smile on his face. Damn, you evaluated me yesterday? I'll make you pee blood today!

"To the rest of you, I saw your strength yesterday, so each of you do two hundred push-ups!"

Xiao Chen pointed at Liu Da Kui's confidants, his intention to use public authority for personal revenge clear!

"Everyone else, fifty push-ups, start now!"

The young men's hearts were instantly filled with a thousand horses galloping. Damn, could you be any more direct?

However, despite their complaints, no one dared to refuse. Ding Li led the way, and soon the gym was filled with grunts.

While the security guards were doing push-ups, Liu Da Kui called Ren Kun.

But to his frustration, Ren Kun's phone was off, and he couldn't get through!

With no choice, he put away his phone and decided to do the push-ups first, and then find Ren Kun to take revenge!

When Liu Da Kui returned to the gym, most of the others had finished, except for a few young men still doing push-ups.

"Manager Liu is back, let's all count for him, and make sure he doesn't miss a single one!" Xiao Chen said with a playful tone, looking at Liu Da Kui's grim face.

"Yes!" The security guards now understood that the evaluation was a pretense, and the new department head was out to get Liu Yan Luo!

Liu Da Kui took a deep breath and started doing push-ups.

"One, two, three..."

Xiao Chen led the counting, and the security guards quickly followed, counting loudly, making Liu Da Kui almost lose his breath!

"Two hundred and nineteen, two hundred..."

As a former special forces soldier, Liu Da Kui had good physical fitness and managed to do two hundred push-ups.

However, when he reached two hundred and forty, he started to struggle!

His arms and forehead were covered in veins, sweat dripping down, his face red, each push-up as painful as being stabbed.

"Two hundred and sixty-five, two hundred and sixty-six..."

"Manager Liu, only thirty more to go, keep it up! I heard you were a special forces soldier, right? A special forces soldier can't do thirty push-ups? If that gets out, wouldn't it embarrass our Chinese special forces?" Xiao Chen sat nearby, drinking a cold drink, and said sarcastically.

Hearing this, Liu Da Kui almost passed out, collapsing on the ground!

Damn, he had already done over two hundred and sixty push-ups! What did he mean by "can't do thirty"?

Liu Da Kui gritted his teeth, shivering, cursing Xiao Chen in his heart, and continued one by one.

His confidants looked at him with sympathy, secretly relieved that they didn't have to do three hundred, or they would have died!

"Three hundred!"

When the security guards counted to "three hundred," Liu Da Kui couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed, his whole body trembling, not wanting to move at all.

"Hehe, Manager Liu, congratulations on completing the first round of the evaluation." Xiao Chen stood up and pointed at the young men: "In five minutes, you will all practice with Manager Liu, just like you did with me yesterday. If you win, Manager Liu leaves. If you lose, you leave!"

"..."

Liu Da Kui's eyes rolled back, almost fainting. Only five minutes of rest? Anyone with common sense knew that after extreme fatigue, it was hard to regain strength!

Now, Xiao Chen was only giving him five minutes of rest, clearly trying to force him out of the company!

Not just Liu Da Kui, but the young men who had done two hundred push-ups were also cursing in their hearts. How could they fight now?

Go all out? They didn't dare! If they didn't, they would be dismissed. They were truly suffering!

"Alright, five minutes are up, let's start!" Xiao Chen looked at the time and said with a smile.

Liu Da Kui struggled to stand up, supporting his shaking legs, glaring at Xiao Chen. This bastard was really ruthless, clearly trying to make him sacrifice his subordinates to save himself!

Although he knew Xiao Chen's intentions, he had no choice but to give his confidants a meaningful look, telling them to sacrifice themselves!

If they sacrificed themselves, they could continue the fight. If they could send Xiao Chen to the hospital, the security department would still be under his control, and he could bring them back later!

But if he was dismissed, it might be over!

His confidants noticed his look and nodded, indicating they would cooperate, just going through the motions.

Just as both sides were about to start, going through the motions, Xiao Chen said: "Remember, use all your strength. If you don't, you will all be dismissed!"

"..."
