On the train, the voices were boiling. Although it wasn't the Spring Festival travel rush, it was the May Day Labor Festival, so the uniquely styled Chinese train was quite crowded. Although it wasn't as packed as during the Spring Festival, with people's feet not touching the ground, having three people sit in a space meant for two was already quite uncomfortable.
Lin Yu, sitting between two elegant women, looked somewhat awkward. The space was already cramped, and with the two women on either side being somewhat plump, the three of them sitting together made it even more uncomfortable.
The woman on the left was holding a boy around five or six years old. Although the child was already that age, she was well-preserved and was in her prime. She was wearing a short white dress, and the large expanse of snow-white skin below her neck occasionally caught Lin Yu's attention, despite his self-proclaimed gentlemanly demeanor.
The woman on the right was a restless one. She would occasionally twist her body, brushing against Lin Yu intentionally or unintentionally, and sometimes she would give Lin Yu a flirtatious look, saying things that would make any man fantasize, which made Lin Yu, who had never formally interacted with women, feel a primal urge.
Lin Yu felt that the entire journey was a torment.
Finally, they reached a station, and someone got off the train opposite him. The woman with the child moved to the opposite seat, and Lin Yu was no longer in an awkward position.
"Mom, I want to sleep," the child in the woman's arms said, and then he fell asleep in her arms.
The woman took a piece of clothing to cover the child and adjusted her position to make him more comfortable.
"Ma'am, has your child not been eating well recently? He looks quite thin. Have you seen a doctor?" Lin Yu, looking at the child in the woman's arms, finally couldn't help but ask.
"Yes, he often doesn't eat, and he doesn't even like the snacks he usually loves. I don't know why. After checking at the hospital, the doctor said there was nothing wrong, but I'm very worried," the woman said with a worried expression.
"I know a bit about medicine. Would you like me to check his pulse?" Lin Yu said.
"You know medicine?" The woman's eyes lit up.
"I know a little. My master is a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, and I grew up with him, so I know some Chinese medicine. If you trust me, I can help check your child," Lin Yu smiled.
"Okay, thank you." The woman carefully took the child's hand, and Lin Yu extended his right hand, placing two fingers on the child's wrist to carefully take his pulse.
After a few minutes, Lin Yu released the child's wrist. He already knew the child's condition well and gave a kind suggestion.
"The child has a slight imbalance of the five elements and a disharmony of yin and yang. In Western medicine terms, it's a mild case of anorexia. The condition isn't severe yet, so it's not a big problem. I suggest you find a reliable old Chinese medicine practitioner. Two doses of herbal medicine or a few acupuncture sessions should do the trick. Actually, I know a bit of Chinese medicine too. If you'd like, I can give your child a few acupuncture sessions, it'll only take a few minutes."
"Oh, no need, it's fine," the woman shook her head. She didn't know Lin Yu, and in this day and age, there were many people who pretended to be something they weren't. Lin Yu was too young to be associated with a white-haired old Chinese medicine practitioner. Besides, in this world, were there still such kind-hearted people? Moreover, her son only had a mild case of anorexia, which wasn't as serious as Lin Yu made it sound.
"The child's symptoms aren't obvious yet, but it shouldn't be delayed. I suggest you still see an old Chinese medicine practitioner."
Seeing the woman's mood wasn't high, Lin Yu didn't say more. After all, he didn't know her, and if he was too enthusiastic, it might make her suspicious.
"Little brother, do you know medicine?" The woman next to Lin Yu spoke, her voice sweet and soft, making anyone who heard it feel their bones turn to jelly.
Lin Yu involuntarily shivered. He was proficient in medicine and could see at a glance that the woman on his right had a full figure, a seductive gaze, and a pair of phoenix eyes that hinted at a strong hormonal imbalance. This explained why she kept leaning against him earlier.
Lin Yu was just over twenty years old. Although he had traveled the world with his master and had a lot of experience, he kept his distance from such mature women because of his special constitution. He had a rare condition called the Six Floating Pulse, which made him weak and sickly from a young age. The most important point was that he couldn't break his virginity before the age of twenty-two.
So, even though the woman next to him was like a ripe apple, making him want to take a bite, he had to keep his distance.
If it weren't for his master, a disciple of the Ghost Valley, who had taught him the Great Profound Heart Sutra to suppress the Six Floating Pulse, he probably wouldn't have lived past eighteen. So, despite his fantasies, he had to reject the woman's advances.
As they spoke, the woman leaned closer to Lin Yu. He felt a softness on his right leg and quickly moved away, suppressing the primal urge in his body and smiling, "I know a little."
"Then... can you check me? I don't feel like eating, and I can't sleep well. I always feel like something is missing..."
The woman's eyes were filled with affection as she looked at Lin Yu's youthful appearance, almost wanting to pounce on him. She had seen many men and knew how to grasp their psychology, almost saying outright that she was lonely and needed a man.
"Also... I feel uncomfortable here, touch it," the woman grabbed Lin Yu's hand and pressed it against her chest. Lin Yu, caught off guard, felt something flowing from his nose and quickly pulled his hand back.
"Little brother, what's wrong with me? I feel very uncomfortable, can you help me check?"
The woman's eyes were full of flirtation, and she was genuinely annoyed. She thought she had been so obvious, but this boy still didn't get it and wasn't responsive.
"Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes observation, auscultation, inquiry, and pulse-taking. I can't see anything from you, so I need to take your pulse to know," Lin Yu said, regaining his composure.
"Okay, help me take my pulse," the woman smiled, her age and every movement exuding charm. She extended her delicate right hand to Lin Yu.
Lin Yu reached out and placed his hand on her wrist, feeling the changes in her pulse. The woman's eyes roamed over Lin Yu's body, filled with flirtation.
After a moment, Lin Yu withdrew his hand, his brows furrowed.
"What's wrong?" The woman's expression tightened, and she became nervous.
"There's a problem..." Lin Yu frowned.
"What problem?" The woman asked nervously.
"You're thirty, right?"
"Yes."
"Then you should be married."
"Yes."
"Do you have children?"
"A boy, three years old."
Lin Yu's eyes widened, and his face turned red. Finally, he asked the last question, "You're married, have had a child, and are pregnant now. May I ask... why are you still a virgin?"
"Ahh..." The woman holding the child and the woman on Lin Yu's right were both stunned.
