"Your Majesty! It's terrible! Our country has been attacked by someone!"
"What!? Was that the cause of the sound just now!?"
In the human world.
A servant rushed into the king's room, looking flustered.
Before the king could give permission to speak, the servant started talking rapidly, explaining what was happening.
Normally, such disrespectful behavior might result in execution, but no one in the room reprimanded him.
Everyone was too shocked by the shocking news to react.
"It was confirmed to be fire magic, and it seems to have caused significant damage to the nobles!"
"Fire magic...? Who cast it?"
"Most likely, it was cast from outside the human world... It was an attack from the south."
"South... Is there really an entity capable of attacking from such a distance in the south?"
The king's mind raced.
First, he needed to identify the attacker.
Just knowing it came from the south should narrow down the possibilities significantly.
There are few formidable enemies in the south.
With the information about the powerful fire magic, the answer was almost certain.
"Your Majesty—could it be the Dragon Princess...?"
"There's no other way to think about it..."
There was only one formidable entity in the south.
The Dragon Princess.
She had killed many soldiers of the human world in the past.
She didn't just target humans; she had repelled anyone who stood against her.
That's why she ruled as the absolute ruler in the southern region.
Recently, she hadn't interfered with the human world, so they hadn't been concerned, but it seemed the time for confrontation had finally come.
"Could this be a declaration of war...?"
"It's safe to assume so. Our country hasn't done anything to provoke the Dragon Princess. She was the one to strike first."
"In that case—"
"We can't just sit back and do nothing. We must counterattack."
The king took out a map and drew a large circle in the southern region.
This was the signal to attack there.
Although they had ignored the issue until now, it was time to take action to resolve it.
"Don't worry. She's just one person. If we get serious, it will be over quickly."
"I see..."
"Prepare the troops. Make sure no more citizens are harmed."
"Hai!"
As the king gave his orders, the servant rushed out of the room.
This would resolve the southern issue.
...Now, he needed to calm the confused citizens.
Even if they eliminated the Dragon Princess, there would still be many problems to address.
"Your Majesty, you've been drawn into a troublesome situation."
"Indeed."
"Still, why did the Dragon Princess suddenly do this?"
"Understanding the thoughts of a monster is nearly impossible. I doubt she was acting on someone else's orders."
With that, the king looked out the window at the commotion among the citizens.
