"Human beings gathering like this is a rare sight. It seems they have reacted quickly to my declaration of war."
"Is this really the time to say such things!? The number is just too much—"
The two were surrounded by hundreds of soldiers. Still unseen, they were in their nest, deciding what to do next.
Rain's combat abilities were below average. If she fought, she would run out of strength in just a few seconds. This meant that Tiara had to face hundreds of soldiers alone. Even as a Dragon Princess, this number would be overwhelming.
"Hey, Rain. Are you underestimating me?"
"Huh? But, it's just too much..."
"I have once destroyed an entire country. This level is practically nothing."
In contrast to Rain's anxiety, Tiara wore a relaxed smile. Her eyes looked as if she were observing an army of ants. At least, she wasn't seeing them as worthy opponents to kill.
Perhaps they felt like mere insects trying to attack. It was a level of perception that Rain could never understand.
"Are you really okay with this?"
"Of course. Leave it to me."
With that, Tiara opened the door and stepped out. The moment the humans saw Tiara, the air was filled with a murmur. Hundreds of eyes focused on her.
If Rain were to receive such a gaze, she would probably be so nervous that she would vomit. In comparison, Tiara seemed completely unaffected by the gaze, continuing her relaxed smile.
"Welcome, humans. Do you really think you can defeat me with this number?"
"Dragon Princess. We have been lenient because you have been quiet recently, but if you continue to oppose us, we will not hesitate to eliminate you."
"Interesting. If you truly believe you can do it, then so be it."
"Of course, I am serious."
In response to Tiara's words, a man who seemed to be the commander reacted. The situation was still at the level of verbal threats, but both sides were ready to start fighting at any moment. The soldiers were gripping their weapons tightly.
With a command from the commander, they were ready to charge.
"Tiara! They have anti-dragon weapons! Be careful!"
"Oh, Rain. You've come out. It's dangerous, you know?"
"—Rain!? You're alive!?"
Rain came out to tell Tiara something important. She had thought the weapons looked familiar, and it turned out that the humans were carrying weapons designed to kill dragons. These were supposed to be very expensive, yet every soldier had one. This was something she absolutely had to convey.
However, Tiara did not show any particular surprise. On the contrary, it was the humans, including the commander, who were shocked.
"Hey! That's Rain! I can't believe she's working with the Dragon Princess..."
"What a bastard... He really intends to betray us."
"Banishment was too lenient, it seems."
The soldiers' insults toward Rain were mainly about betrayal. While Rain felt betrayed herself, it was clear that no one would listen to her now.
"We have nothing more to say. We will bring your heads to the king."
"Interesting. If you can, try."
And so, a battle between one and hundreds was about to take place right before Rain's eyes.
