Chapter 100

Most people were fully armed, with tactical vests that seemed to encase their entire bodies like turtle shells, each equipped differently, but Bak's setup was the simplest.
Dressed in a camouflage uniform, he had a utility belt around his waist and a collection bag hanging from his back. This bag, an invention of the U.S. military, was used to collect empty magazines, which were then reloaded and reused at the base. Bak placed two magazines inside it.
In addition, he had a pistol holster on the back of his utility belt and was holding a G36C carbine, a weapon typically used by female soldiers. Listening to the incessant chatter about team distribution in his cheap single-ear earpiece, Bak squinted and surveyed the scene...
Hong Qi stepped forward and leaned against the wall, forming up with his familiar teammates. When he turned back, Bak was gone.
"Old Bak?"
"Mm... I'm hiding. Don't worry about me, you guys keep going."
The channel was actually open, and all ten members of the team heard it, laughing heartily. Hong Qi made a face and shrugged at Fang Lingying, who was using a radio without headphones. A few girls who were there for the first time gathered around to listen to the jokes.
With so many people, the preparation took ten minutes. When the four squad leaders confirmed everyone was in position, the loudspeaker announced with a grand voice: "Begin!"
The sound of electric guns firing was like a flurry of popping beans!
Hong Qi and his team, near the bungalows, charged into the large abandoned factory like they were storming a battlefield. In the distance, a dense crowd of people rushed into the tall grass, trying to approach the factory area. Further away, on the hillside, people from both sides were charging up the hill towards the forest at the top!
With two hundred people, the scale was close to that of two regular combat companies, which was quite exhilarating, especially for those who loved the iron-blooded military life.
The sounds of battle cries filled the air!
One difference from a real battlefield was the range; electric guns generally had a range of about thirty meters, and beyond that, the white pellets would scatter. So, those far away didn't have to worry about being hit, as they could sing, "Can't hit, can't hit!"
It's a game, after all, and having a certain level of realism is already pretty good, much more exciting than playing CS on a computer!
So, many of the newbies charged with their rifles, bullets whizzing by like rain, and people raised their guns to indicate they were hit, laughing as they left the field.
Most of the experienced players, however, were very professional in hiding and dodging.
This area was actually the former cow barn of a dairy farm, and almost every room was a site of intense skirmishes and close combat. People who were hit and in pain but still found it exciting would cover their mouths and faces, then leave the field, automatically gathering at the garage entrance to watch the entire scene.
Hong Qi and his team did well, quickly establishing a foothold in the factory and cow barn, and began searching and advancing in groups of three to five. The opposing side, relying on their numbers and firepower, could also put up a fight. After the initial ten minutes of heavy casualties, both sides had about ten to twenty people left, and the battle entered a stalemate, requiring strategy to determine the outcome.
In the safe zone, there were "dead" members from each team. They all saw a group of five or six people cautiously moving along the outer wall of the factory. This section of the wall was unguarded, and if they slowly and stealthily approached, they could potentially flank Hong Qi and his team.
This group was in front of all the spectators, on a large open concrete area. They even waved to the audience, and when Fang Lingying curiously raised the radio, someone next to her turned it off: "No giving away information!"
Fang Lingying made a face but didn't resist.
Everyone watched with great interest as the group advanced.
They moved in a formation similar to what you might see on TV, with the first person holding a shield and a pistol, a powerful rifle pressed against his shoulder, the third and fourth people aiming in other directions, and the last person with a machine gun covering the rear. The formation looked impressive, like American SWAT entering a room, and someone in the safe zone was even recording it with their phone.
Hong Qi and his team weren't bad either. Someone was wandering around, observing the environment, and accidentally discovered this group. They called for backup to suppress the group, but the shield effectively blocked the bullets, and the group slowly moved forward, like a tank, pressing forward. When they passed a doorway, they suddenly fired inside, and sure enough, a group of "dead" people were driven out!
Hong Qi's teammates became anxious and increased their firepower, but they could only hide in distant corners and shoot at the shield. Trying to move to the side to get a better angle, they were quickly taken down.
What to do?
With only ten meters left, this group was almost in position to flank Hong Qi and his team, compressing their survival space and leading to certain defeat!
The atmosphere became intense, and the distant battle on the hill wasn't as engaging as this close combat. All the spectators were eagerly waiting for a fierce close-quarters battle!
Then, suddenly... really suddenly, the guy with the shield threw it away and raised his hands, indicating he was hit. The second, third, and fourth members also raised their hands, indicating they were hit, and left the wall, looking puzzled as they withdrew from the battlefield!
They were all hit!
When these "dead" people came over, almost everyone gathered around them: "What happened?"
These people were confused: "We don't know... from this direction, from the side, someone shot us... just a few shots, we don't know..."
Everyone followed their fingers and looked at the large open area between the safe zone and the factory wall, a flat concrete area with only a few stacked cement bricks, completely exposed. No one was hiding there... who could it be?
Someone joked, "Did someone's bullets bend?" which earned a laugh, but the "dead" people were indignant.
Hong Qi and his team cheered, having neutralized this group. They immediately regrouped and counterattacked, with Hong Qi leading a team to charge back, mainly because this route was completely exposed to the audience, making it very showy...
But halfway through, Hong Qi covered his ears, looked around in surprise, and signaled to retreat, firing a few bursts in frustration, which drew a response from the ambushers on the other side...
Then, Hong Qi and his team shifted their focus to the other side, applying heavy pressure and forcing the enemy to retreat. The enemy had to rely on the large open area to escape...
The same situation occurred again; all the opponents who tried to escape across this open area were forced to leave the field halfway through!
Hong Qi and his team charged forward, pushing the enemy back onto the open area, and the enemy kept leaving the field!
When they came down, they all looked puzzled!
The direction of the hits all pointed to this open area!
This open area was over fifty meters wide, and the safe zone was placed there to prevent stray bullets from hitting the spectators.
No one was hiding or ambushing on this concrete area!
The injured even suspected someone was cheating, secretly shooting from the safe zone, but all the spectators denied this possibility.
Soon, Hong Qi and his team appeared in the enemy's territory, having almost won, and were now clearing out the remaining opponents.
In the safe zone, they were counting the remaining people and chose to surrender: "No one left... forty-six people, eleven of our main members died on this line. Reveal the mystery, as long as it's not a rule violation! We accept it!"
Even in death, they wanted to die with clarity!
