Renatus stood up and followed Bradley as he turned back around.
After walking for a while, there was actually an open area that looked like it would be easy to pitch a tent.
I’ve learned to camp, but this is my first time in the wilderness.
Renatus put the magic bag on the ground and took out a tent set and barrier stones from it.
Barrier stones are a magical tool. A wedge is attached to the bottom of the stone so that it can be set up on the ground. When it is placed at the four corners, the area inside of the stones is undetectable to monsters. It allows us to spend the night in safety.
“I’ll set up the tent, Renatus so can you activate the barrier stones?”
“Roger.”
Renatus began to build a barrier with barrier stones and a hammer.
The range of the barrier got bigger and stronger depending on the amount of magic that went into the activation. Bradley probably doesn’t know much about this. If he did, he would say, “It’s wasteful,” and stop me.
Renatus placed wedges so that the barrier would be a wide space and poured magic power into it. It is better to have a wide resting place
Bradley was perhaps too skillful and had finished setting up the tent by the time Renatus had finished setting up the barrier.
“I created the barrier.”
After saying it in a carefree tone, Renatus returned to the place where the magic bag had been placed, hammer in hand.
Bradley looked around the surroundings.
“Isn’t the barrier too wide? It is a waste of your magic power.”
“Eh. You knew about that?”
“Of course. We learn it in the knight department too. It’s a magical tool to begin with, so even knights can use it.”
Bradley became sullen, perhaps feeling that his intellect had been belittled.
“Bradley’s magic power is…”
“It was measured at the time of admission. I had the highest amount of magic power in the knight department. Well, I don’t want to learn magic, so it’s a waste of talent.”
“That’s right.”
Even in the original novel, Bradley does not use magic.
However, there are descriptions of him unleashing magic power subconsciously.
In the stories. it is not uncommon for the protagonist to display powers that they would not normally possess. Bradley also used the magic power he unleashed to strengthen his body when facing a powerful enemy.
Magic is like a mechanism that can efficiently circulate magic power following proper theory.
Bradley did not collapse even though he did not use such a mechanism and used inefficient means of magic power, such as unleashing magic power. He must have a huge source of magic power.
Renatus has more magic power than the protagonist, Bradley.
When you have too much power, you get all itchy and weird. Bradley may be good because he got rid of it by going on a rampage, but Renatus did nothing but pick up shiitake mushrooms.
“I have the most magic power in the school. So when I don’t use my magic power, I feel uncomfortable. Bradley, you also feel uncomfortable when you don’t exercise, right?”
“…”
“Being overprotective isn’t good. It’s a missed learning opportunity.”
Renatus sighed and raised both palms upward. In a kind of “I’m done” pose.
“Renatus.”
“Yes.”
Bradley stood just in front of Renatus and placed his hand on Renatus’ shoulder.
Then he leaned forward slightly and made eye contact with Renatus. Their faces were close.
“If you run out of magic power, I’ll give you magic power…. You know how magic power is transferred, right?”
Bradley’s voice was deep and mellow.
Why did he suddenly exude sex appeal? My heart is pounding terribly.
A man with a good face should know that a good face can be a deadly weapon. Bradley’s face is more likely to kill me than the demons.
Bradley chuckled and leaned his face in.
Even closer.
At this rate, our faces will be touching each other.
Renatus was startled and squeezed his eyes shut.
“…Like this. Defend yourself, okay?”
Bradley stopped where his breath brushed against my lips and he moved away.
“I-I understand…”
Renatus replied nervously.
Even though he didn’t touch me, I felt like I had done something I shouldn’t have done.
The way to transfer magic is mouth-to-mouth. It’s the same as mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Although it was to rescue his best friend, he probably didn’t like the idea of men locking mouths with each other. That’s why he put his face so close to mine as if we were about to kiss, to warn me.
Bradley squinted and wrinkled his brow.
Renatus vowed not to cause that kind of trouble, though he had no intention of experiencing magic power depletion.
TN: Renatus: Bradley probably doesn’t like the idea of kissing me.
Bradley: …..
