Thanks to everyone's support, the third volume has been decided for publication!
The release date is June 1, 2021!
It will continue to be published by Beans Bunko!
The content is the same as the third part of the web version, but as a book bonus, I have written:
"The Story of Gilbert Pushing Down Cecilia" (It's not an accident!)
and
"Oscar's Lucky Pervert"
For those who have enjoyed the web version, I would be delighted if you could take this opportunity to show interest in the book version as well!
In fact, I really hope you enjoy the book version!
The cover image is on the activity report!
It was an ordinary scene.
After school, Cecilia and everyone gathered around the snacks she received from a female student while studying. Gilbert got angry at Oscar, who was unusually close to Cecilia. Oscar, not understanding why he was being scolded, got upset. Jade and Cecilia tried to stop the fight that had started between the two...
In this noisy yet peaceful, ordinary scene, Dante, leaning on his desk, smiled.
"Is it okay, Master Dante?"
The voice came from Lean, who was sitting next to him. Her lover, a junior from her organization days, was currently called by the teacher and was away from his seat.
"Is it okay, what?"
"To not join them over there."
Lean pointed with her gaze to Gilbert and Oscar, who were still arguing. This time, they were arguing about the snacks. Really, it was hard to tell if they were good friends or not.
"Hmm. Trying to stop those two would be a waste of time. If Cecilia can't stop them, anything I say would be useless too."
"That's not what I mean."
"That's not what you mean?"
With her ambiguous tone, Dante paused and understood what Lean was pointing at.
She wasn't asking if he should join their group. She was asking if he should join the "contest for the oblivious, natural girl."
Dante chuckled, "Ah, that's what you mean," and then looked back at Cecilia.
"You see, I don't consider men as romantic partners."
"Oh, that's a shame. ...But if that's the case, it shouldn't be a problem, right?"
"...You're really pushing it today. What's up?"
"Just a mood, that's all."
Dante had a vague idea that Lean knew Cecilia's true identity. She probably knew as well. However, they had never discussed it before because it wasn't necessary.
"Master Dante, you must like Cecilia, right? Is it okay to not join them? You might lose her if you hesitate."
Was she enjoying it, worried, or mocking? Dante squinted and sighed, then leaned back in his chair.
"If I joined them, it would be rude, wouldn't it?"
"Rude?"
"I try to prioritize things properly. So that I don't hesitate if something happens. No matter how difficult it is to choose, I do it."
Lean, not understanding how this related to the previous conversation, tilted her head.
"For example, I like Gilbert, but if Oscar asks me, I would kill Gilbert. Oscar is a higher priority for me than Gilbert."
He casually said this and looked at Lean, smiling, "Of course, I care about you too."
Prioritizing was a habit from his days in the organization. He had to decide who to listen to first and who to protect first to survive. He had seen many comrades die from a moment's hesitation.
"So, I could probably kill Cecilia too. Of course, I would regret it a lot afterward. But I would still do it. That's why I shouldn't join that contest. Only someone who can put Cecilia first should join."
"I'll just cheer for whoever can make Cecilia stay closer to me," Dante laughed.
"You have a difficult personality."
"Maybe it's because I was raised poorly."
"Then, is Oscar still your top priority!?"
"That's the part where you get excited, Lean."
Dante shook his shoulders at her usual reaction. When they first met, he thought she was a quiet and fragile girl, but appearances can be deceiving.
"Right now, Oscar is second in my priorities."
"Eh!? Is there someone else you like!?"
"No, that's not it."
Dante chuckled and clasped his hands behind his head, then looked at his noisy friends as usual.
"Right now, the thing I want to protect the most is 'this fun and silly peace.'"
