Lord He was ambushed.

Head to Huahua flower farm

“Strange.” Zog regarded He Lin’s test results and muttered, “The mental shock index has decreased, and the injury has demonstrated signs of steady recovery. Hmm, hasn’t there been progress since the beginning? ”

He Lin’s mouth twitched slightly at the corners. A cup of hot tea rested in his hands while his back rested against the hospital bed.

Zog was about to ask something, but when he saw the other’s affectionate smile, he was dazed and forgot what he was about to ask.

The smile lived shortly, and He Lin said, “What did you want to say just now?

“Have you recently experienced any symptoms like stress, insomnia, headaches, and vomiting?” Zog asked after pausing for a beat to recall what he would say.

“No. Everything’s normal.” Too normal that it was hard to believe. His sleep quality had improved noticeably, as had his recurring headaches, and his mental power had become more stable. He hadn’t felt much relief in a long time.

Zog sucked a deep breath and stared at him with complicated eyes. “My lord, are you unwilling to divulge which great masted made the medicine for you?”

He Lin set his teacup down, rolled out of bed, tidied up his clothes, and casually dropped a sentence. “I’ll tell you in two years.” Then, he strode away.

“Why two years? Can’t you tell me right now? Could it be the master must wait two years because he will be paroled by then?!“ Zog yelled in vain.

He Lin got into the car, instructed Fei Tuo to take the back seat, and immediately closed his eyes to rest.

Fei Tuo noticed his tranquil brow freed of worry lines and knew He Lin was in good spirits, and the treatment must have progressed.

Silence prevailed as the vehicle drove smoothly for over ten minutes. All of a sudden, He Lin’s eyes snapped open. His pupils contracted, and a murderous look settled upon his face.

“Turn left ahead and drive toward the eastern suburbs,” He Lin commanded.

Fei Tuo was puzzled but still changed routes according to the order, and the bodyguards’ vehicles behind them followed suit.

He Lin added, “The Guichi Valley in the eastern suburbs, do you know it? Now, cut off your transmitter, lose the guards, and head to Guichi Valley as fast as possible.”

“What’s the matter, Lord He?” Fei Tuo could not help asking.

“I’ve been targeted.” Despite the steely look on his face, He Lin’s voice remained steady.

Fei Tu’s heart trembled, and cold sweats broke out from his palms. Only those targeting Lord He could be S-level enhancers or much more potent than that.

As instructed, the moment he swiveled to the corner, he immediately picked up speed, separating away from the protective circle of the guards. Once they caught on such a situation, they were bound to report it to the higher authorities without needing Fei Tuo to remind them. Assuming that the person coming was indeed an S-level enhancer, the more people around them, the more inconvenient it would be.

It’s just that he couldn’t understand why Lord He wanted to go to Guichi Valley. That place was a forbidden area for spiritual enhancers. Because the moment they enter the premises of Guichi Valley, it would suppress their mental power. And once they stepped in, even S-level enhancers would become no different from ordinary people.

Although Lord He’s mental damage had shown a bit of recovery, was it essential for him to risk venturing into Guichi Valley against an unknown master of the same level in his land?

Fei Tuo, however, knew not that there were not one but two S-level enhancers discreetly pursuing them.

“Once I get out of the car, you immediately drive away from here and gather people to meet me 30 miles away.”

“Not happening.” Fei Tuo’s clenched his fists. “My mental power will be useless inside Guichi Valley, but I can help.”

When He Lin heard this, he did not utter another word signifying his tacit approval.

The maglev continued to pick up speed. Suddenly, when it was less than twenty miles from Guichi Valley, the two masters lurking somewhere launched a spiritual attack on He Lin.

He Lin had already put his guard up the whole time. Thus, he was just in time to raise a mental defense and strenuously resisted the attack from both S-level enhancers.

“Pfft.” He Lin spat out a mouthful of blood.

Fei Tuo was aghast. He wanted to say something, but He Lin stopped him. “Don’t get distracted. Just drive and get to Guichi Valley as fast as possible.”

Throbbing veins blued his temples wiring down to his bloodshot eyes, while the quivering, taut muscles tore apart his clothes. It was as if his body had been doused with hot water as a thin layer of mists enshrouded and rose from it, and that distinct metallic whiff of blood diffused in the mists too.

Fei Tuo heavily stepped on the gas, making the car blur like a long arrow from afar, whizzing straight to the uncanny rocky terrain of Guichi Valley…

An Xian recently found an unusual plant called “Wu Liu Vine.” It would always be evergreen in all seasons, which bloomed rather adventitiously and possessed an aggressive nature.

Wu Liu Vine grew slowly but had an extremely long life span. If raised assiduously, it could cultivate an elementary level of spiritual intelligence. Over a thousand years ago, this plant was often used to guard and protect courtyards by driving away evil spirits. Although it having intelligence was no longer plausible, there was still much room for evolution.

An Xian was not in a hurry to transplant it. Instead, she placed it in her room, nourishing it with spiritual energy daily.

While this side busied fiddling with flowers and plants, He Lin’s yonder was surrounded by perils.

With the grace of Guichi Valley’s absolute suppression of mental powers, He Lin and Fei Tuo, who have cooperated, successfully escaped the pursuit of the two masters. However, when He Lin defended against extreme mental attacks earlier, he got critically injured, and his mental power was on the verge of collapsing.

“Lord He, hang on for a moment. I’ll take you back to the laboratory right away.” Fei Tuo trudged toward the maglev car with great difficulty as he supported He Lin, having the latter’s arm over his shoulders.

“No…” Blood spattered from He Lin’s mouth when he croaked a word.

Fei Tuo was visibly distraught witnessing it. The medicine’s effect was far from catching up with the speed of mental power collapse. Lord He’s injury had just shown signs of improvement, and he hadn’t had a peaceful moment for the past few days when two powerful S-level enhancers impaired him. This time, could he carry it through?

Fei Tuo carefully helped He Lin into the car’s back seat and was about to withdraw when a large hand clamped his wrist.

He Lin opened a pair of beast-like eyes and said, stressing word by word, “Go to Huahua Farm.”

“What?” Fei Tuo thought he had heard it wrong. ‘In such a critical moment of life and death, Lord He actually chose to go to Huahua Farm?!’

“Huahua Farm!” He Lin said again, with an unmistakable murderous tone in his voice.

Fei Tuo clenched his teeth and cursed under his breath. Then, he got into the driver’s seat and drove straight to Huahua Farm.

An Xian just came out of the refining room, her entire body covered in the smell of medicine. She went to the bedroom and, without taking a change of clothes, headed straight into the bathroom.

The sound of gushing water from the shower drowned out the noise outside. When Fei Tuo halted the fuming maglev car outside Roy’s small residence, An Xian straightaway sensed the intense mental fluctuation, like a violent, catastrophic storm sweeping heaven and earth.

“Roy, Roy, where are you?!” Fei Tuo’s anxious shout roared from downstairs, followed by the bouts of heavy footsteps, moving from afar to near at a breakneck speed.

An Xian had barely opened the door, ready to change clothes, when the door was kicked open rudely.

Fei Tuo, who supported He Lin, told An Xian, “Come and save this person!”

An Xian only had a flimsy bathrobe on. Her long wet hair draped on her shoulders loosely, the robe’s lapel was half opened, her two long legs were exposed, and beads of water still rained down her skin. An embodiment of a lotus flower breaking onto the surface — beautiful and captivating.

After seeing it clearly, Fei Tuo choked on his breath, and his voice softened subconsciously, “He–Lord He is injured….”

An Xian gathered the lapels of her robe, unfettered to the leakage of springtime scenes. She had a flat chest now, so there was nothing to see. She walked to He Lin’s side in a few steps, put a hand on his forehead, and tapped her spiritual power to help him curb the riot of mental power for the time being.

In the height of drowsiness, He Lin only felt a cool combing through his mental power and relieving his pain.

A faint fragrance wafted into his nostrils, and the cool water vapor tickled his eyelashes. He Lin cracked open his eyes. The first thing that welcomed him was An Xian’s slender neck and delicate collarbone, then up to her moist and plump red lips, and finally, those midnight eyes that seemed so clear yet unfathomable.

With a somewhat clearer head, He Lin noticed that An Xian was only wearing a bathrobe where a wide area of her chest was exposed and glossed by a few water drops — crystal clear and lustrous. Like he saw in the live broadcast, “his” skin was flawless.

Out of his peripheral vision, he caught Fei Tuo, who could not tear his gaze away from An Xian. He Lin’s eyes grew hard. When An Xian withdrew her hand, he took advantage of the situation to put his hand on her shoulder and make her support him.

Holding her close came with a sense of belonging. And the person in his arm was more slender than he pictured.

An Xian helped him onto the bed. She turned around, headed to the medicine room, never sparing them a glance, and took an elixir from the storage ring.

She did not have time to concoct a new medicine for He Lin. Thus, she could only expense the elixir she had refined previously to deal with the emergency for the time being.

Annoyed, An Xian puffed a sigh. Just recently, she helped this guy recover his mental strength, and the next second he managed to strain himself again.

“What’s the matter with you? You’ve been injured twice within three days. Do you still have the qualities that an S-rank powerhouse should have?” An Xian didn’t care to change clothes. Resting her legs on the sofa chair, she listed the names of medicinal ingredients in his notebook while lecturing He Lin.

He Lin lay weakly on the bed, but his mood was strangely calm.

Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, happily cascading down on An Xian, making her look warm and soft like cotton even though her words were not so fine…

He Lin’s eyes fell on those two long glorious legs again. Although they were all men, was she not a little too unconcerned? Does she not know how high her face value is? How fair is her skin, and how good is her figure?

“You were injured too badly this time. It hasn’t been a year, yet you don’t even try to sleep quietly.” Seeing He Lin’s insouciance, An Xian warned. “Refrain from using your mental power for the following year. It’s best to see yourself as an ordinary person — talking strolls every day, drinking tea, taking medicine on time — unbothered yourself from mundane things, and stay home with peace of mind.”

He Lin smiled. “I listen to you.”

‘What does this indulgent tone mean?’

An Xian gave a cool nod. She rose from her chair and unfolded the list of medicinal ingredients she drew up in front of He Lin. “Here are the medications required for the treatment. Gather them all in five days. If not, I have nothing to do but watch you blow up.”

“En, you can leave it to Fei Tuo.” Despite his severe mental injuries, He Lin believed he could prevail over the difficulties.

Not only did the person in front of him give him hope for life, but also the confidence that he could triumph over anything.

“You cover all expenses.”

“Naturally.” Aware that the “young man” was poor, He Lin was hardly stingy with her.

After coming to terms with He Lin, An Xian took the list and was about to go downstairs to find Fei Tuo when He Lin suddenly stopped her. “Wait.”

An Xian looked back: “?”

“Change your clothes before going.”

“…”
