Compared to last time, Jiang Chao’s attitude this time was much gentler, no longer treating Li Xiao as a junior, but rather as an equal.

“Thanks to your warning, Tian Tian’s fine now.”

After receiving Li Xiao’s warning, Jiang Chao quickly booked an appointment for her daughter. After the appointment, it was discovered that she had a tumor in her lungs. Luckily, it hadn’t developed into cancer because of the early catch. Jiang Chao’s heart trembled at the thought of it. She only had one daughter, and if anything were to happen to Tian Tian…

The corners of Li Xiao’s mouth raised. “It’s good that I can help you.” She pulled out the necklace Li Qianfei gave her.

When Jiang Chao saw the necklace, her expression contorted. She recognized it. “How did you get that necklace?”

“Someone gave it to me,” Li Xiao said.

Jiang Chao’s gaze lingered on the necklace. “That necklace is the Quan family’s heirloom. I heard a rumor the Quan family returned to China to find the necklace. Whoever gets their hands on it will have the Quan family indebted to them.”

“Can I immediately sell this for 2 billion?” Li Xiao asked.

Jiang Chao gaped. The Quan family favored very few people, so their goodwill could not be measured in money.

“I’m hoping you could help me auction this off at Feide’s Autumn Auction,” Li Xiao said.

Such a matter wouldn’t be hard for Jiang Chao, so she quickly agreed.

Jiang Chao wore a smile that didn’t quite seem like a smile. “You genuinely don’t want any favors from the Quan family?”

The necklace was evidently a gift from Li Qianfei. When the time came, Li Qianfei’d receive the favor, not Li Xiao. So Li Xiao might as well pawn it off for some cash.

Li Xiao thought and said, “If you know anyone who wants to buy the Li family stocks, I can sell them for 1% off the market price.”

Jiang Chao gazed at the indifferent girl before her and couldn’t help but sigh. The eldest daughter of the Li family seemed to have no emotional bond with them. If Li Xiao sold her stocks to an outsider, Li Nanjue’s position in the company would likely be threatened.

The deal could be considered a blessing for her, so Jiang Chao readily agreed and said, “You and Tian Tian are similar in age. If you have free time, you can meet her.”

In the general public’s eyes, Li Xiao was the eldest miss who had lost her previous status. The public chased after Zhan Jiayin’s dragon-phoenix twins instead. But in Jiang Chao’s eyes, the girl before her was worth more, and since Jiang Chao wasn’t fond of Zhan Jiayin, she was more than happy to befriend Li Xiao.

Li Xiao recalled Jiang Tian Tian’s face and lightly nodded. “Alright.”

Since they were both cannon fodder girls, they should get along.

Happily, Li Xiao returned to the old house to freeload a meal and see any good drama to witness.

The dazzling villa was brightly lit. A lone figure remained stationary in front of a window. Gracefully, he held a wine cup.

The man was none other than Quan Yifen, the current head of the Quan household. His features were handsome and faultless. Every feature made people jealous God had shown such favoritism to him. His eyes were darker than the night. It was as if he were trapped in his memories.

After a short while, he let out a soft sigh, his handsome eyes shrouded in fatigue.

He had searched for his angel for years but was unable to find a trace of her.

Ten years ago, he was kidnapped with a little girl. The girl had been the one to distract the pursuers to save him. On the outside, she was softer and more beautiful than anyone else, and on the inside, she was braver and kinder than anyone else.

Before leaving, her dazzling smile became etched into Quan Yifen’s heart and never faded throughout the years.

“Don’t be scared. I’m the Goddess of Luck, so nothing will happen!”

Quan Yifen gave her his necklace and promised her, vowing to rescue her. She bit his arm, telling him it was the protection of the Goddess of Luck.

But when Quan Yifen used his family’s influence to find the kidnappers, he never found her. All he got was the news that the girl had managed to escape long ago. He spent years trying to find her in vain, but he never gave up. Finally, three months ago, he found a master who divined for Quan Yifen at considerable expense. The divination Quan Yifen received showed that the person he was looking for was in S City, China.

Quan Yifen immediately returned to China and let the word out. Others thought he had carelessly lost the necklace. Only Quan Yifen knew that he simply wanted to find the necklace’s owner.

Over the years, his relationship with the mysterious girl began to sink in more, and his memories of her shone like gold. When his mother proposed to him about a marriage contract, her sunshine-like smile unconsciously flashed in his mind. Quan Yifen realized that he had already fallen in love with that kind and brave girl.

‘I’ll find you this time no matter what, my angel.’

Determination flashed in his eyes.
