The day after Nona participated in the training, Mr. Kan entered the dining room where the Asher family was having their meal.
"Mr. Kan! Good evening!"
"Hey, Nona. Good evening. I have something to discuss with your parents today."
Nona tilted her head and looked at her mother, Anna, as she couldn't understand the complex conversation yet. Anna responded with a smile.
"What kind of matter, Mr. Kan?"
"It's about this girl's extraordinary physical abilities. Her reaction speed, jumping power, and her ability to predict her opponent's movements with both her eyes and body, and react in an extremely short time. I'm curious to know how you raised her to be like this."
Anna's face showed a hint of concern as she looked at her husband.
Jeffrey, noticing his wife's gaze, spoke up.
"Since my wife became this child's mother, she has been teaching her various movements every day, a little at a time, in the form of play. She learned through play, and I don't think she realizes the extent of her abilities."
Encouraged by Jeffrey, Anna explained in detail how she had taught Nona the basic techniques, incorporating martial arts into play, teaching her how to climb trees, perform mid-air rotations, and jump over walls.
"Hmm. Through play. I see. I knew that strict teaching wasn't the only method, but seeing this success firsthand makes me reconsider my own teaching methods."
Nona, growing anxious, tried to understand the conversation between her parents.
"What is it? Dad, Mom, what are you talking about?"
"Mr. Kan is praising how well Nona moves."
"Yay!"
"I have been focusing on teaching the young ones since stepping down as the head of the family..."
Mr. Kan chuckled.
"I was impressed by the skills this child learned through play. From now on, I should think more about how I teach the young ones and children. I learned a lot indeed."
From the next day, Mr. Kan's teaching methods began to change slightly. He started incorporating a bit of play at the end of the children's training sessions, while his methods for teaching adults remained the same.
Nona continued to attend Mr. Kan's training sessions throughout her stay in the Shen Kingdom. By the time she returned to Ashbury after five years, her martial arts skills had improved to the point where even Jeffrey couldn't afford to be careless.
(If there were no differences in physique and weight, what would it be like?) Jeffrey marveled at Nona's progress.
"One's body is a weapon."
One day, Nona, after catching her breath and assuming a serious stance, muttered these words.
Seeing this, Jeffrey panicked a bit, thinking (Hmm? Did I give her too much freedom?), but Anna smiled calmly.
"That's fine. Being able to do something is more fun than not being able to do it."
Still, as a mother, she gave a little warning.
"Nona, I think it's wonderful, but I don't think you should show that stance and expression to others. And let's keep the phrase 'one's body is a weapon' to yourself, okay?"
"Okay."
Nona casually replied, then leaped high into the air with a "Hah!" and ran to Anna, hugging her.
"Oh, you're such a cuddly one."
"Mmm."
The Asher family's return was just around the corner.
