Zhao He’s head had been smashed into spoonfuls of watermelon pulp, and his will to survive was on the verge of collapse.
Fortunately there was still Qi Yan and Zhou Yilu, one looking out front through the windshield and the other sticking his head out to look back, but they finally gave their old driver an order in unison—
“Reverse!”
Qiao Siqi was roared back to his senses with tremendous momentum like a rainbow cutting through the air executing the command directly—In order to minimize the deviation of the order after being influenced by one’s own intellectual analysis.
The gear was already pulled to reverse as he released the brake and stepped on the accelerator. With one push, the jeep’s rear end barreled towards the zombie horde on B2!
However in the end, its initial velocity was zero. Even after slamming into the zombies, the car’s speed hadn’t increased, so the zombie wasn’t sent flying and was instead only pushed backwards!
Through the rear window, Zhao He and the pinned zombie locked eyes, their eyes conveying emotions to each other, but ultimately, no sparks flew.
The car finally backed off of the slope and with the car completely level, Qiao Siqi spun sharply, not only sending the zombie clinging to the rear window flying, but also turning the car around, shifting into drive before charging forth once again!
After knocking several more zombies off their feet, the jeep finally broke free and returned to B2!
Compared to the traffic on B1, B2 was as smooth asBeijing’s Second Ring Roadearly on New Year’s day. In a matter of seconds, Qiao Siqi had left his pursuers far behind.
However, the comrades knew this wasn’t a long-term situation. Not to mention how terrifying the combined forces of the B1 and B2 zombies would be, just the task of finding the car was daunting—
Zhou Yilu: “What should we do now? Wait until the zombies have caught up, then return to B1?”
Qi Yan: “No, the lanes in B1 are full of cars. We can’t get in, and even if we do, we won’t be able to do that much of an exploratory search!”
Wu Zhou: “Then what should we do?”
Qi Yan: “Plan C.”
The five comrades: “Are, you, sure?!”
Plan Cmeant abandoning the two existing car keys and instead attacking a lone zombie left behind or one that had been lured into a solitary state and trying to retrieve a new key from it. This was a backup plan for the failure ofPlan A-Part 4.
No one would resort to this plan unless it was absolutely necessary. Who knew which zombie would have a key? Furthermore, successfully luring a single zombie was also a challenge. Even if all else worked, where would the car with the key be? Just thinking about it was enough to give them a headache.
Now there was a fourth fatal problem—The car this set of keys belonged to also couldn’t be parked in B1 because they had no way of finding it there!
If the previous experiment with the two car keys was like searching for a needle in a haystack, now it was like finding that needle in a haystack and then sticking it in the horn of the Dragon King’s forehead!!!
“I don’t want to be sure, but is there a better solution besides this?!” Qi Yan wasn’t prone to anger, but in this situation, even if he wanted to continue pretending to be calm, cool and collected, he only possessed the will and had no power toah!
The three musketeers from the sports education department fell silent, their gazes quickly becoming set with determination.
Fu Xiyuan met Qi Yan’s gaze through the rearview mirror: “Tell meba, how we should proceed in detail, we’ll follow it to a T.”
Qi Yan calmed himself, nodded solemnly, then turned to Zhou Yilu: “And you, are you ready?”
No matter how the process unfolded, Zhou Yilu would ultimately be the one to determine success or failure. In the current situation, he was thankful to have a car at all. A half-wit like him probably wouldn’t have to force himself into action. So, whether it was the scramble to find the car with abiubiubiuafter receiving the keys, or the rush to put it into drive once he found it, it would definitely rely solely on Zhou Yilu’s responsibility.
No matter how determined the others were, if Zhou Yilu wavered in the slightest, it would be impossible to succeed.
Was Zhou Yilu afraid?
Of course.
Searching for the car wouldn’t be too bad, but the thought of dashing out of one car and into another after locating it still gave him the chills. There were two whole parking lots full of zombies, likely all glaring at him viciously. The imagery of such a scene was also too much to contemplate.
Yet after meeting Qi Yan’s gaze, he miraculously felt less afraid.
He wasn’t fighting alone, and his comrades wouldn’t isolate him without providing any assistance.
Taking a deep breath then slowly exhaling, Zhou Yilu stated word by word: “I’m ready.”
Qi Yan narrowed his eyes then decisively named: “Zhao He!”
“I knew it. . .” He’d had a premonition the moment Qi Yan mentioned the plan. Now that it’s come true, it actually felt. . . reassuring?
Zhao He suspected he hadn’t joined a Wusheng class, but some mysterious brainwashing organization where every member was ravaged with Stockholm syndrome.
“Pop the trunk open, race to the zombie that ran the fastest and is the closest to us, kill it instantly, isn’t that rightba?”
Qi Yan was surprised, but was even more delighted. For the first time, he exclaimed: “Tacit understanding.”
Zhao He chuckled, then tightened his grip on the metal chopsticks, narrowed his eyes, and locked onto the pursuing zombies in the distance through the windshield, as he commented at the same time: “Drive slower, let them catch up.”
Qiao Siqi reluctantly released the accelerator, letting the car slow naturally.
Zhou Yilu climbed up, turned around, and leaned over the back of the chair, drawing close to the back of Zhao He’s head. He solemnly requested, “Try to pick someone who looks loaded.”
Zhao He didn’t even turn around: “Relax, the richer someone is, the more likely they are to have a car, I get it.”
Zhou Yilu: “No, possessing a car, this sort of thing isn’t fresh and interesting these days. Anyone can have one, but good cars are hard to find. If you pick someone who looks particularly wealthy, you might even find a Ferrari!Heiheiheihei. . .”
Wu Zhou: “A sports car has four seats at most, most only have two, can’t you be more realistic?”
Zhou Yilu: “Then maybe a Mercedes-Benz, Jeep, Lamborghini, off-road Porsche,SUVaoaoao—Go Zhao He!!!”
Fu Xiyuan: “Ge, we just attend an ordinary full-time public university. . .”
Zhao He could sense Zhou Yilu’s excitement. After all, he was about to get his first car, one that belonged only to him, that he could drive however he wanted without worrying about points or insurance. Of course, he was looking forward to it.
But he could only do his best and leave it to fate—
“I’m just picking the closest one, if you want a nice car, just pray that the fastest ones are all richba.”
With Qiao Siqi’s presence as an example, that dream didn’t seem too far off.
So Zhou Yilu held his breath, copying Zhao He to peek out the window, his gaze fixed on the zombies outside.
In the lead was a casually dressed “male classmate”. As Qiao Siqi’s speed slowed, the “male classmate” drew closer and closer to the rear of the car. . .
Three meters.
Two meters.
One meter!
A sharp light suddenly flashed in Zhao He’s eyes. With a sudden shove of his arm, the door to the trunk, which had been partially cracked open by him, flew all the way open!
The zombies in pursuit howled in excitement and lunged over!
Zhao He wrapped one arm around the back of the seat and shouted: “Stop the car!”
Qiao Siqi reacted at lightning speed, slamming down on the brakes hard!
The car which was already moving at a very slow speed, abruptly came to a screeching halt!
Inertia caused Zhao He to stagger, but he steadied himself in a split second, having been prepared for it.
The zombie, though, was caught off guard as it continued its furious pursuit, slamming violently into the rear of the car. His lower body was restrained, but the immense momentum sent his upper body careening into the trunk!
Zhao He had been waiting for this exact moment.

Two minutes later, Zhao He loosened his arm.
The body fell out of the car and rolled a long distance away.
Zhou Yilu watched the whole thing, still completely bewildered: “The key?”
Zhao He shook his head.
Zhou Yilu was incredulous: “Didn’t have one?!”
Zhao He raised his empty hands: “Didn’t you see everything?”
Zhou Yilu was a bit confused: “It’s impossible that he didn’t have keysah, why would he come to the underground garage if he didn’t have any?”
Qiao Siqi: “He must’ve been trying to hitch a ridebei, I always run into those.”
Zhou Yilu: “. . .”
Zhao He: “Don’t wear that despairing face. If this one doesn’t work, try anotherbei, Qiao Siqi, slow down!”
“No prob. . .”
Zhi—
Dong!
The sounds of sudden braking, sharp turns, and Zhao He crashing into the body of the vehicle blended into a majestic symphony.
Zhao He: “I told you to slow down, not to slam on the d*mn brakes—”
Qiao Siqi: “I also didn’t want to, but I had to avoid the van—”
Zhou Yilu: “We’ve passed this car four times already.”
Qiao Siqi: “So why the hell is it still in the middle of the road, can’t it move over out of the way!!!”
Qi Yan: “I think that’ll work.”
All the comrades: “. . .What?”
The comrades thought Qi Yan was just joking until he commanded Qiao Siqi to stop the car!
The latter didn’t understand why, but he still followed the instructions mindlessly.
The red jeep that had just completed a sharp turn was parked diagonally in front of the van.
Before the car even came to a full stop, Qi Yan hollered at the bewildered Zhou Yilu: “Stop hesitating, this is the one, get in!”
In, climb in whatah!!!
Zhou Yilu glanced at the approaching zombies, then at the silver-faced van, feeling a gaping emptiness that accompanies fantasies.
Qi Yan had already gotten out and quickly yanked open Zhou Yilu’s door: “The keys are in the van!”
One remark startled him from his slumber.
Not only Zhou Yilu, but the three musketeers from sports education were also enlightened. This vehicle was parked in the middle of the road, its doors wide open. It must have been in motion when something happened halfway through, causing it to be unable to be moved or even stalled, and the driver was eventually and subsequently dragged off by zombies. And since his jeep kept passing by on its left side, Qi Yan was definitely in the best position to see what was going on in the driver’s seat.
Without hesitation, Zhou Yilu scurried out, followed by the three musketeers from sports education as they each opened their respective doors, converging on the van like lightning!
In an instant, the jeep was emptied out. As all the doors slammed shut, wind funneled in through the window, which Zhou Yilu had lowered halfway, ruffling Qiao-siji’s hair.
“Did you guys have to run away so cleanlyah—”
He understood that his comrades were trying to secure Zhou Yilu’s smooth departure, but he needed some loving care as wellah!
In the rearview mirror, zombies were already swarming close to the rear of the car!
Qiao Siqi decisively locked the car, rolled up the window, and completely sealed the Wrangler into an impenetrable metal wall as he took off!
Only a few zombies were fixated on the red jeep and kept up their hot pursuit while the majority slowed down—Their target had already shifted to the five who had rushed out.
Thankfully, the spot they alighted from the jeep was close to the van and the driver’s door was already open. Zhou Yilu only needed two steps from the back seat to leap into the driver’s seat. As he sat down, his left hand swiftly closed the door behind him as his right hand turned the key to start the engine. Fortunately, it started, apparently it seemed to have stalled during an attack, which was why the battery wasn’t drained.
Heady with excitement, Zhou Yilu naturally stepped on the pedal.
Yet as soon as he did, he realized—This car was manual transmission!
As much as Zhou Yilu loved cars, he was limited by his experience. Although he hadn’t yet returned all his knowledge to his instructor, he hadn’t driven a manual transmission since taking the test. He was dumbfounded and hesitated for a moment.
At the same time, all four companions had entered the car—Qi Yan remained in the shotgun seat, while the three musketeers of the sports education department also maintained the same positions, Fu Xiyuan and Wu Zhou in the middle on the left and right sides, with Zhao He in the last row.
“What are you staring off into space for, driveah—”
The companions, confused, urged him in frantic voices.
Zhou Yilu’s spirit returned with his senses and he instantly reviewed the manual transmission instructions in his head. He then shifted gears which had been moved to the fourth one by the previous driver, back to neutral, turned the key, and restarted the engine.
When the engine roared to life, he swiftly pressed the clutch and brake, shifting it into the first gear. . .
Guang—
“F*ck!”
The sound of a car door being forcefully opened came from behind, followed by Wu Zhou’s furious torrent of curses.
Zhou Yilu peered anxiously at the rearview mirror and saw that the open door had been yanked back by Wu Zhou, but the zombies outside were gripping it fiercely. Fu Xiyuan, who was next to him and Zhao He in the back seat also reached over to aid Wu Zhou. The door was entangled between the hands of both parties back and forth, the gap remaining at a palm’s width!
“Lock the door!” Qi Yan couldn’t help, but he could see the loophole. If Wu Zhou’s could be opened, it proved that Fu Xiyuan’s door and his own were also unlocked. The surefire way to solve the problem once and for all was to lock the entire car with a single button from the central locking system on the driver’s side where Zhou Yilu was.
However, Zhou Yilu was quicker than he anticipated. After catching a glimpse of the situation behind him through the rearview mirror, he had already been pressing the central locking system repeatedly, but the expected “da” of all the doors locking didn’t click even after a long time: “I’ve nearly mashed it until it’s broken, but there’s still no responseah—”
“D*mn!” Qi Yan cursed, manually locking his own door, then turned and stretched out his arm to assist Fu Xiyuan in locking his door.
The van finally moved forward, accelerating steadily.
Zhou Yilu lacked Qiao Siqi’s boldness to slam the accelerator to the floor, but he also made steady progress, eventually overpowering the zombies entangled with the three students of the sports education department, successfully escaping the encirclement.
As the three students from sports education worked together to slam the door shut, the van finally had a moment of respite.
Qi Yan didn’t forget to remind: “Wu Zhou, lock your door manually.”
Wu Zhou paused for a moment before reacting. He fumbled with his hands for a few seconds before finding the right spot to lock it. Finally, he asked, puzzled, “There’s no universal lock?”
“There is, but maybe it bumped into something that touched the wiring, so it doesn’t work when pressed.” Zhou Yilu had already shifted into third gear, gradually regaining the lost feeling of a manual transmission.
Zhao He finally had a chance to survey the interior of the car, his eyes quickly lighting up: “Seven seatsah, then two vehicles will be enough!”
Qi Yan breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a mixture of apprehension as well as counting his lucky stars: “En.”
Fu Xiyuan and Wu Zhou immediately forgot their previous unpleasantness and looked forward to a brighter future.
Only Zhou-sijiwas left behind simmering with regret, unable to dispel it.
From Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Lamborghini to aDongfeng Xiaokangseven-seater minivan, the gap between ideal and reality was truly enormous. . .
Outside the elevator, a row lined up underneath the cars.
The ten companions listened to the intermittent roar of engines, running, fighting, and growling. . . their bodies motionless, but their minds adventurous.
The greatest distance in the world wasn’t between life and death, but between you speeding crazily in one vehicle while our gazes met underneath another.
Song Fei turned to look at Luo Geng—It’s about time isn’t it?
Luo Geng turned to peek at Lin Dilei—About time.
Lin Dilei turned to glance at Huang Mo—According to the plan, after locating the car, they’d lure the zombies as far away as possible and then race back.
Huang Mo turned to peer at Wang Qingyuan—So they must’ve succeeded.
Wang Qingyuan turned to regard Li Jingyu—There are still a few zombies around us, we have to be careful.
Li Jingyu turned to seek out He Zhiwen—I counted the number of shoes, six different pairs, so there should be six of them.
He Zhiwen turned to study Feng Qibai—That number is manageable.
Feng Qibai turned to gaze at Kuang Ye—Ah, no big deal.
Kuang Ye turned to scrutinize Ma Weisen—You better not hold us back later.
Ma Weisen turned as he sneered—
“A-chu!”
The ten companions trembled in unison.
The world, stopped.
The area around the elevator entrance was so quiet, one could hear a pin drop.
Ma Weisen wanted to explain that he was truly allergic to perfume, that it was beyond his control, but theclawsthat had already reached underneath the car, groping around, silenced him completely as he held his breath.
The claws explored deeper and deeper, Ma Weisen could only hold his breath and quietly wiggle to the side.
Abruptly, half of a zombie’s face appeared in the gap accompanied by a small puff of wind—It had crouched down!
Ma Weisen was torn between staring at it or stabbing it with his knife. The former was too difficult to endure, while the latter would likely create too much noise!
“Ao—”
Very well, the zombie’s roar made the choice for him.
Ma Weisen’s heart was gloomy, near despair, but he was ruthless as he pierced the zombie’s face that peeped underneath the car!
However, before he could draw his weapon, the remaining five zombies roared at him, their countless claws instantly reaching under the car, surrounding him.
The only consolation was that their stiff bodies prevented them from bending over agilely to crawl under the car!
His clothes were repeatedly snagged which Ma Weisen broke free from one only to be snatched at by another. Finally, unable to hold on any longer, he eyed the front of the vehicle where no claws reached in. With his calves slightly bent, he shimmied forward on his elbows, then with axiuxiuxiuof his behind as he wormed his way out, he slipped out from under the car in a matter of seconds, clambering up to dash away!
The zombies were slow to react and by the time they realized what was happening, Ma Weisen had already scrambled onto the roof of anSUV.
Six zombies—Including the one whose face has been stabbed, all pounced towards the car Ma Weisen was perched on.
The roof of the car wasn’t completely safe though, rather it was at a delicate height where a zombie could reach out and snatch his leg at any time.
Thankfully, the car’s streamlined lines and smooth walls made it difficult for the six zombies to climb, so they could only impatiently paw at him with their hands.
Ma Weisen immediately put thebamboo pole dancehe’d learned from the ethnic minority sisters while on vacation to use, dancing about with such joy, with adadada, the zombies couldn’t catch him at all.
The nine companions who had secretly peeked out from under their respective vehicles were stunned by his professional dance skills, feeling as if he would sing a folk song and woo a maiden at any moment.
However, while the bamboo pole dance was skilled, it was limited by stamina. Soon, Ma Weisen was panting and his steps became heavy, losing their initial airy grace.
Song Fei took two deep breaths, abruptly slipping out from under completely as he charged off in the opposite direction hollering: “Comeya, come and catch meya—”
The zombies didn’t understand, only realizing they had gained another living creature to pursue, and were instantly overwhelmed with the need to make a choice.
Ma Weisen heard what was taunted and nearly slipped. Yet beneath this heartless and dissolute call, interwoven was a ringing chorus of comradery, it was a truly sickeningly, but moving experience.
Ultimately, only two zombies gravitated towards Song Fei, while the remaining four continued to stare at Ma Weisen.
The latter was already panting hard.
But his comrades didn’t let him wait for long. As soon as Song Fei hopped atop another car, all eight of them emerged, like tigers unleashed from their cages, scattering in an instant. Some, influenced by their predecessor, enticing them like their class leader, attracting bees and butterflies.
Six zombies, ten people, there really weren’t enough to go around. By the time the eight comrades had scrambled onto the roofs of different vehicles, the zombies were in complete disarray, their faces swiveling around helplessly and bewildered.
The roar of engines approached from afar accompanied by the glaring headlights that glowed increasingly bright!
A silver van led the way, followed closely by a red jeep. They had originally intended to call out to their companions, but as they drew closer, they realized that there was no need to. They had already emerged from the shadows, their movements taking on an aggressive intimidating air after deciding if it’ll take dancing to fight zombies then dance they will.
With their companions now within sight, Zhou Yilu instinctively wanted to press on the brake when he heard Qiao Siqi yell from behind: “Run them over—”
Instantly, Zhou-tongxueunderstood, shifting gears, he stomped on the gas and scraped past a row of vehicles on the right side of the road, speeding forward.
With two loudguangguangs, two zombies that had wandered into the middle of the road after attacking an unknown classmate from the Wusheng classes were run over and crushed!
Following two heavy thuds ofpengpeng, the jeep and the van came to a simultaneous stop.
In the midst of an ear-piercing sharp screeching of brakes, all five warriors in the van rushed out. Realizing they no longer had to worry about luring even more zombies over, the ten comrades leapt down rhythmically. Fourteen against four, it was a piece of cake. In the blink of an eye, the zombies were dead. Qi Yan swiftly ran back to the jeep, dug out his walkie-talkie and handed it to Qiao Siqi before flipping around to haul a bewildered Song Fei onto the van!
Song Fei knew he should get into the van quickly, but he was puzzled by Qi Yan’s action of dragging him straight to the van while specifically leaving the walkie-talkie with Qiao Siqi. However he looked at it, it seemed like an extraneous and unnecessary move. Ultimately, he could only consider it as part of Qi Yan’s noble character, leaving the good car for his other comrades.
Joining Qi Yan’s charge towards the van were the three musketeers from sports education and Ma Weisen, who had taken down the last zombie.
“This van can hold nine!” Zhou Yilu shouted to the remaining comrades as he counted the number of people getting in.
Meanwhile, Qiao Siqi had already taken in Li Jingyu, Lin Dilei, Wang Qingyuan, and He Zhiwen.
“Huang Mo!” Lin Dilei, who was crammed into the back seat of the Wrangler with Wang Qingyuan and Li Jingyu, called out to her fellow sister: “Over here—”
Huang-tongxuegladly accepted the invitation and quickly slipped into the back seat, settling into the narrow space squeezed out between two men and one woman.
“The title ofbestiesare the real killersah. . .” Ma Weisen sighed, clutching his forehead.
The three musketeers from sports education and Qi Yan exchanged mystified glances, sure enough, their classmates were all insiders!
As Huang Mo took her seat, the Wrangler’s two rear doors were shut immediately, leaving only Kuang Ye, Feng Qibai, and Luo Geng behind.
The Wrangler’s trunk and the van’s rear side doors opened almost simultaneously!
Luo Geng was the first to move, diving into the trunk without hesitation—The jeep’s sturdy exterior and bright colors overwhelmed the visual impact of the van.
Kuang Ye wanted to go too, too bad that he was already a step too late, and could only squeeze into the van.
Feng Qibai didn’t care either way, any car would do, deciding that he’d just follow Kuang Ye. Yet after Kuang Ye climbed in, he abruptly froze, then, as if remembering something, turned tail and sprinted off!
The jeep was already fully occupied, its doors locked, and was merely waiting for the van to catch up when this situation occurred unexpectedly, leaving the seven companions to be stunned.
Zhou Yilu even started the car in order to chase after Feng Qibai, honking his horn as he went.
He was worried not just because Feng Qibai wouldn’t get in the car, but because the horde of zombies left behind by the van was gradually approaching, with the heavy, chaotic sound of running footsteps clearly ringing in his ears!
On the other side, Feng Qibai had already entered the elevator.
Then in a blink of an eye, he reappeared, dragging a suitcase behind him.
It was only then that the comrades recalled that for the sake of facilitating their movements, they had asked Zhao He to temporarily store the suitcase in the elevator. You know, it contained not only clothes and supplies, but also their food reservesah!
Zhao He felt mortified, after all, he had been the one responsible for the suitcase, and this was a dereliction of his duty. He quickly squeezed to the front seat, opened the van door, and planned to clamber out in order to aid his comrade.
While Feng Qibai, who had taken the suitcase, also made a beeline towards the van.
However, just as Zhao He pulled the door open with his back still half wedged between the two middle seats, a zombie swooped in from the side, right in front of Feng Qibai. The zombie, already a bloody, mangled mess, was one of the two zombies that had been rammed flying by Zhou Yilu’s van!
Feng Qibai also noticed the zombie and tried to stop, but he was running too fast, and with the suitcase still in tow, he couldn’t stop immediately. He could only slow down again and again, cutting down his speed more and more.
Too bad, he was ultimately still a step too late.
Just as Feng Qibai finally managed to control himself and stop, the zombie was already right before him, leaving him with no chance to draw his weapon!
Though his comrades were within arm’s reach, the others in the van were in no position to provide any assistance. They could only watch helplessly as the zombie, their maw agape, lunge at Feng Qibai’s face. And having just released his hold on the suitcase, Feng Qibai had no chance of dodging to either side and was left to face the enemy head-on. . .
“Feng Qibai!!!”
The fifteen comrades nearly exclaimed in unison, their voices hoarse, as if this could infuse their comrade with boundless strength.
And then, they succeeded.
Feng Qibai couldn’t escape to either side, and after just planting his feet firmly on the ground, he wouldn’t have the opportunity to make another move just yet, but the agility and flexibility of his upper body wasn’t affected.
Thus, he suddenly leaned back, and under everyone’s full view—He fell into abridge stance.
With his two hands thrust against the floor, the zombie, missing his target, practically stumbled to the side while sliding against his arched abdomen where inertia took care of the rest, sending it crashing down to the ground, facedown.
Feng Qibai, leapt to his feet, strode over the zombie’s back, this time, he was able to draw his carving knife with unwavering ease.
Pupupu, three stabs.
Each one a fatal blow.
Amid the riotous clamor of dust, the zombie horde finally entered the Wusheng class’s field of vision.
Feng Qibai smoothly rose to his feet, shoved the suitcase into the open door Zhao He left and squeezed in after!
Now all in formation, Zhou Yilu pressed the clutch and shifted gears, unleashing a powerful blast!
Qiao Siqi, who had been waiting for a long time, whistled excitedly. All that clutching and shifting gears was meaningless. He floored his accelerator and, in a flash, he was ahead of Zhou Yilu!
Zhou Yilu didn’t argue, as Qiao Siqi knew the path and exit inside better than he did.
The latter also lived up to expectations and instantly climbed the slope back toB1. Instead of heading towards the interior, he took the outer route and soon reached the exit.
Having shaken off his pursuers once more gave Zhou Yilu a moment to breathe, so he followed Qiao Siqi at a leisurely pace, however, just as the exit was in sight, the jeep in front of him began to reverse!
Zhou Yilu instantly broke out in a cold sweat. Qi Yan, sitting in the passenger seat, had already whipped out Song Fei’s walkie-talkie and was clutching it at hand, catching sight of the situation, he immediately asked: “What’s going on—”
Qiao Siqi was busy driving up ahead. It was He Zhiwen, sitting in the passenger seat, who answered Qi Yan’s walkie-talkie communication: “Three vehicles collided at the exit. It’s blocked and we can’t get out that way.”
Before Qi Yan could inquire more about the situation, Qiao Siqi’s voice came on again, he had probably asked He Zhiwen to help hold down the talk button: “It’s okay, just follow me in reverse, we’ll take the other exit!”
Zhou Yilu didn’t mind backing up, following Qiao Siqi’s rerouting, but he did have reservations regarding the phrase “it’s okay”, after all. . . who the hell would slam on the accelerator while backing upah!!!
Watching the red jeep’s reckless reversal+drifting+sharp turns+sudden acceleration, Zhou Yilu quickly dodged to the side in his minivan, clearing the way for him to perform. He waited until Qiao Siqi headed off in a new direction before he followed him.
Watching Qiao Siqi’s dazzling driving skills, Song Fei began to understand Qi Yan’s good intentions. He leaned into his boyfriend’s arms, feeling as if he had given him a second lease on life.
Fu Xiyuan and Wu Zhou, sitting in the middle, held onto Feng Qibai sideways, their faces radiating righteousness. It seemed as if Song Fei, perched on Qi Yan’s lap in the shotgun seat, and Feng Qibai, now in their arms, weighed like nothing to them.
Ma Weisen, Kuang Ye, and Zhao He, who were crammed together in the back seat, also supported the large suitcase sideways across. However, they both preferred the comfortable sturdy weight of gear to that of other men.
Although Song Fei was happy to sit where he was, while the suitcase also held no objection to its position, Feng Qibai certainly did. Seeing his two comrades not budging even after so long, he reluctantly sighed with exasperation: “You can put me down now.”
Wu Zhou and Fu Xiyuan gladly complied, releasing their arms.
Feng Qibai shuffled to the space between the two seats, settling on the floor as he began to silently wipe the blood from the blade onto his sleeve.
Song Fei stared silently at his comrade, unable to reconcile the frigid man he was now with the alluring one from moments before.
“Xiao-Feng, what else can’t you accomplish?”
Feng Qibai put away the cleaned carving knife and slowly raised his head: “Singing, I’m really not good at it.”
Song Fei was unconvinced: “You’re just being modest.”
Feng Qibai shook his head, peered at the red jeep in front of him, and sincerely stated: “My singing is like Qiao Siqi driving.”
Song Fei: “. . .”
The other comrades: “. . .”
“Ahhhhhh—Let me out—”
Heart-wrenching cries pierced through the vehicle’s window and reached out to them.
Accompanied by the screams, were theguangguangsounds of pounding on glass.
In the back seat, Kuang Ye’s vision was obstructed so he questioned in confusion: “Who is itah. . .”
Ma Weisen silently turned his head, in the dim lighting on the exit ramp, his memories etched in his mind.
Zhao He, also in the back seat, couldn’t see what was happening in front, but he could hear: “Sounds like Luo Geng.”
Kuang Ye frowned nervously: “Why was he screaming so miserably?”
Zhao He shook his head and joined Ma Weisen in staring off into the distance.
Zhou Yilu, who had the widest view, stared at Luo-tongxue’s forlorn face plastered to the rear window and sighed softly: “Maybe he’s regretting it, realizing that he should’ve resisted capitalism’s sugarcoated bullets and work hard to take measured steps to achieve a moderately prosperous society instead.”

Author’s Chapter Summary: Two vehicles escaped from hell, sixteen people rode away together in a cloud of dust!
The translator has something to say: Seeing ZYL so excited for a car, I was hoping the Author giving him a crappy little car if only to stoke the humor bit if it weren’t going to be such a life-saving tool, but their lives mean more to me than that, giving him a van seemed like a good balance between the two though (not cool but at least useful), finding the joy in little things is so important
