Kanata, a low-ranking member of a mercenary group, scavenges for valuables on battlefields to survive. His only joy is collecting magic residue, small stones containing remnants of magic that eventually fade. He finds beauty only in these remnants. However, he starts to discover fragments and traces of magic within these stones. Through persistent effort, he seizes an opportunity and rises through his accumulation of seemingly useless things. He carves his own path.
