Tooru Yonekura, a second-year high school student, has a childhood friend, Rin Asakura, who is excellent in academics, athletic, cool, and a bit harsh with her words. Tooru is hopelessly in love with Rin, but their close friendship creates distance, leaving him in a constant state of frustration. However, one day, Rin starts acting more affectionate. She invites him to movies, cooks for him, and even gives him hugs at home. As they spend more time together, the distance between them slowly closes. This is a sweet and frustrating romantic comedy about a not-so-straightforward childhood friend. The story has concluded and a後日談 (epilogue) has begun.
