This wasn't really for me. I came here for the comedy, but it wasn't to my liking, the tidbits of comedy weren't enough to keep my interest up. Keep in mind that 6 chapters are quite a bit in this particular novel because the chapters are very long, it should add up to a few dozen chapters in most normal xianxia/xuanhuan. I give it a score of 2/5, the experience for me was subpar but reluctantly readable if I would've had absolutely nothing else to read, but as I do I won't read more than this.
The story is quite boring, as is the world building and side characters, feeling flat and artificial. I see nothing that would make it distinct from the average, run of the mill stuff you find in most novels. The comedy was actually quite good, or should I say, the word reversals were funny. I personally find it to have no other notable merits whatsoever. I see that the author is trying to be funny at other times as well, but it just doesn't hit home for me (except for once or twice). The word reversal quirk might get old fast as well. Even a generic xianxia/xuanhuan novel that I can barely stand nowadays lets me feel more interest than this novel did, it's just not interesting or immersive. Also, it can be quite depressing at times. The way it's written in doesn't let me feel a light-hearted mood, it just feels somewhat dreary. The author never fails to mention quite a few depressing things, while it's supposed to be quite funny and not too serious, the way it's written in makes me get slightly annoyed or even depressed at just how much of a bit*h life is to the MC and how nothing ever goes his way.
Spoiler
Seriously, the MC was cursed by a witch to pretty much either shut up or risk becoming hated by everyone around him, hell, even shutting up would offend people. It'd be better for him if he pretended to a mute and use written words to communicate. Still, life isn't that easy and if he ever wants to be able to communicate with people normally again, he'll have to speak to them because otherwise the curse will never be released, he needs to say a certain amount of correct sentences after all, but he doesn't even know the number because he couldn't hear it due to background noise. Now, why was he cursed, what utterly despicable and horrible thing could he have done to warrant such a horrible curse? Did he kill the witch's family? Did he stab her in the back? Did he act like a douchebag? Nope. Guess what? He just called her "aunt" without any malice or ill intent whatsoever. Yup. This witch is so freaking petty I don't even know where to start. It's like she'd kill your beloved pet because it barked at her or gouge your eyes out because she believed you gave her the evil eye. I mean, come on... So s*upid.
Well, now he ends up in a new world. Nice, right? A new shot at life. Nope, not only does it turn out that he doesn't even know why he died, he was even killed right when coming through the pathway there after suffering excruciating pain. With the issues he has, he also can't get people to understand him. Then he gets killed right after entering the city by some random out of control magic beast. Now, here's the thing, everyone gets 3 revivals for free, then they go into enormous debt and every time they die, it hurts more and more as the debt increases. Then he goes to the first classroom, but it turns out that the guide forgot to give him the books, so he was forced to stand and was looked down on by the teacher. Then when going to the next class, he was promptly killed by some lunatic teacher and his fellow students because the teacher seems to find it to be hilarious to kill new students. Then when he revives in the pond, he drowns twice more since he can't swim and enters a huge debt, now being forced to do work to pay it off.
But that's not all, because when he goes to the magic class for the first time, he gets flat out told to go home because he has no talent. So, this guy has pretty much no talent whatsoever not to mention being worthless in almost every department (seems he's good at drawing talismans though). He gets exposed to this crap over and over again and while the author is trying to make it sound funny, I just can't help but feel sorry for the guy, especially since the comedy that hits home for me is truly rare, especially since the MC tries to avoid speaking as much as he can. I mean, god dammit, cut him some slack. At least make us feel like he deserves it (like having a shitty attitude or being a case of self-harm due to his actions) or let him have a cheerful attitude, but this guy is pretty much depressing in every way, seemingly having almost given up on life as he quietly tries to go along yet still gets screwed over by life at every corner, he doesn't even seem to feel that indignant about it so I can't help but feel like he's soulless.
Other than that, I also can't really get into the author's obsession with "racial difference". While the author doesn't seem to dislike foreigners and being more on the side that it doesn't matter much, he goes out of his way to point these things out all the time. Like the westerners and easterners hating eachother. That the guys looking like westerners gets discriminated against in the eastern city. There's also the thing where "new residents" aren't worth much in the eyes of pretty much everyone over there because they can revive, so they get some quite shitty treatment. I also can't help feeling like the author is so ridiculously ignorant of "westerners" that I feel like it's hard to believe this person did any research whatsoever. This author lumps every "westerner" together in one big group, not caring at all about the different ethnicities. In the mind of the author, every westerner has golden blonde hair and whatever else, not paying attention at all to the fact that this is actually not that common at all, not even in my country, Sweden, which is known for blonde hair and blue eyes, is it that normal, most of the people have dyed their hair if they have a color like that... This just rubs me the wrong way because I really don't like the idea of pretending that humans are of differnet races and discriminating based on that. Not a big deal though since this is quite a common occurence when it comes to chinese authors, but I thought some people might feel like this is important. At least it's far from the level of some novels out there where the rest of the world is portrayed as evil and everyone who doesn't look and talk like you is a horrible monster that needs to be cut down
I feel like I also have to mention a bit about the translation itself, because it has some issues that sadly makes this harder to read. While the translation is decently high in quality (nothing much wrong with the grammar, just some minor stuff here and there), the translator isn't that good at making the sentences flow well. For one, the general way of writing makes it hard to read quickly, the sentences doesn't connect well. The more pressing issue, however, is the habit this translator has of not translating things, instead keeping it as pinyin. This makes it much harder to keep track of things for someone who doesn't know chinese. This means we have to try to memorize random worthless words that we will never need in the future while trying to read. It makes things much harder to sort out. A translator should translate as much as possible, how could it be called a proper translation otherwise? but there's so many untranslated things here. Even things like "school of magic" etc. If things were just translated like they're supposed to, I wouldn't have to get a headache while trying to keep track of things. Small things like this matter and it truly shows how a translator can make or break something just by skill levels and habits. I mean, I appreciate the effort that goes into translation, but stuff like this can make even great novels drop a big chunk in enjoyment value.
Overall, I don't feel like it's worth reading. If you have nothing else to read, it's probably readable enough to get through, but then I recommend you to just find something else to do while waiting for new chapters to stack up. Many people obviously have different taste than me, so perhaps you could give it a try anyway. If you do, I recommend reading at least 2-3 chapters before deciding on whether it's good or not. The introduction and prologue not included because those two chapters are chaos, especially the introduction.
