Asuta Tsurumi is a 17-year-old second-year high school student who works as an apprentice cook at his father's popular restaurant, 'Tsurumi-ya'. One day, 'Tsurumi-ya' is struck by a fire, and Asuta, in an attempt to save his father's treasured three-edged knife, rushes into the inferno and dies. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself in the middle of an unfamiliar jungle, attacked by a beast resembling a wild boar.
