"Confirmation has been made. Please come this way."

The knight returned and said this.

"I see. Then, I will proceed by carriage. I would appreciate it if you could guide us."

In response, the knight nodded slightly and, glancing at the carriage, furrowed his brow.

"Of course, but this carriage... there is no horse..."

He began to say, then suddenly looked startled. I nodded silently in response and cast a flying spell.

"This carriage does not need a horse."

Saying this, I sat in the driver's seat, and the knight pulled his chin, his expression stern.

"...Understood. I apologize, but I will have to assign guards to prevent a commotion. Please bear with us."

"Understood. Thank you very much."

In response, the knight quickly moved into action. He called out to the soldiers, and about thirty of them formed a line around the carriage. Then, the other soldiers hurried back to the city.

When I saw the Holy Capital's knights, I thought they moved differently from outlaws. Even upon arriving in the city, they gave orders briskly and proceeded through the city with almost no delay.

"Hey, it stands out!"

"Who's inside?"

"Has a court magician come from the Holy Capital?"

Noisy voices echoed through the city, and the soldiers surrounding the carriage were trying to keep the crowd from getting too rowdy.

The city was cleaner than I had expected. Although it felt like there were fewer residents for the size of the city, it was clearly not impoverished.

More than that, I was concerned that Shenli, who was supposed to be returning home after a long time, had not shown her face from the carriage at all.

"We have arrived."

While thinking about this, we reached our destination. In front of the carriage was a particularly large mansion. There was a courtyard in front, surrounded by a wall.

The double steel gates were opened by the soldiers, and I noticed someone standing in front of the mansion.

An elderly butler dressed in a suit-like outfit.

"...Welcome to the Rosenstiel Manor."

The butler said this in a calm voice and bowed deeply. Hearing his voice, Shenli showed her face from the carriage.

"Louis."

When Shenli murmured this, the butler called Louis slightly relaxed his cheeks and softened his expression.

"Miss Shenli, welcome back."

"…I'm home."

Louis welcomed her, and Shenli responded with a slight smile. It seemed that Louis was someone Shenli found easy to interact with. Feeling somewhat reassured, I watched the two of them, and Louis turned his gaze back to me.

"…Pleased to meet you. I am Aoi Konominato, a teacher at Fidic Academy."

I introduced myself and bowed, and Louis, in turn, bowed again and spoke.

"Thank you for your courtesy. Please, this way. I will guide you. The Knight Captain will also join us."

"Understood."

In response to Louis's words, the bearded knight nodded. It seemed that the bearded knight was the Knight Captain. Perhaps for the purpose of surveillance and deterrence, the Knight Captain stood closely behind me.

Louis confirmed this and led the way into the mansion, followed by me and Shenli. The Knight Captain was at the rear. It seemed that the other soldiers were waiting at the gate.

Inside the mansion, there was a very clean and spacious entrance, with corridors leading to the left, right, and back. The room was slightly dim, perhaps because the windows were a bit small.

Walking down the corridor at the back, we reached a set of stairs, and Louis quickly ascended. As it looked, the inside of the mansion was quite large.

After walking for a while, we arrived at a room at the back of the second floor. The door was more substantial than the others, indicating that it was an important room.

Louis lightly knocked on the door and called out, and the door was opened from the inside. Two knights in beautiful armor opened the door and gestured for us to enter.

"Excuse me. I have brought the guests."

Taking a step inside, Louis moved aside to open the way.

Then, a spacious room came into view. In the front were a pair of large sofas, with a low table in the middle. Behind that was a simple desk and a large armchair. A middle-aged man was sitting in the chair.

A plump man with brown hair parted in the middle, sporting a well-groomed beard, looking somewhat stern.

The man looked at us and narrowed his eyes.

"...I am Aldo Quequer Rosenstiel. You are the teacher from Fidic Academy?"

"Yes. I am Aoi Konominato. Pleased to meet you."

I greeted him with a slight bow. Aldo glanced at Shenli and then returned his gaze to me.

"...I apologize for the trouble, but Shenli plans to withdraw from the academy voluntarily. Have you heard about this?"

"Yes, I have. I came to try to change that plan."

In response to Aldo's words, I frankly expressed my thoughts. Aldo crossed his arms and tilted his head.

"I have heard the reports. Although Shenli transferred to Fidic Academy, her magic did not improve much from before she left Mapleleaf. Therefore, it would be a waste of effort for her to strive as a magician."

At these words, Shenli's shoulders trembled, and she looked down. Aldo, seemingly unconcerned with his daughter's reaction, looked at me expressionlessly.

His attitude made me feel a bit irritated.

"...Shenli is only fourteen years old. Why does she have to withdraw from the magic academy so early?"

When I asked for the reason, Aldo sighed deeply and glared at me.

"I will ask you this as well, but do I need to answer such an intrusive question?"

He firmly rejected my request.

This left me in a difficult position. Indeed, if it was a family matter and not about magical talent, I might not be able to intervene deeply as a teacher.

Looking at Shenli, she was on the verge of tears.

"...However, Shenli does not want to leave the magic academy. Could you at least tell us the reason?"

"Enough. There is no need to explain or give a reason."

Aldo said this, and Shenli's face turned pale. His stubborn attitude in trying to make Shenli leave the magic academy made me feel something was off.
