Chapter 99

Originally, I had planned to include one day off per week. So, I decided to conduct the home visit on that day.

"Excuse me, I'm going to pay a visit to Shenery's parents."

As I said this, Eliza spurted out the soup she had in her mouth.

"Blah! Huh, huh!?"

"Kyaa!?"

Liz, who was sitting directly across from Eliza, screamed and stood up.

The damage seemed minimal due to the large dining table, but spitting out soup is not acceptable. By the way, we were all having breakfast on a holiday morning.

"Please calm down."

"How can I calm down!?"

When I tried to calm her down, I was scolded. With no choice, I closed my mouth and adopted a listening posture. Then, Eliza straightened her posture, cleared her throat, and spoke.

"That's too sudden. Why are you going to Shenery's house? I'm very worried..."

"Shenery told me that she has to leave the academy and return to her family. So, I will go to persuade her parents directly."

"Oh..."

Eliza made a strange sound and looked up to the sky. For a moment, I thought I saw the figure of Headmaster Glen, but it was probably just my imagination.

"Is it okay? I've never heard of a teacher going to a student's home."

Strass, who had been listening, confirmed with a slightly worried look. I nodded and unfolded the letter I had received from Shenery.

"The letter simply stated that she would return home, that she would withdraw from the academy, and that the communication would be handled by her. Of course, I can't accept this, and neither can she."

As I said this, Strass folded his arms and grumbled.

"Indeed. But it might be difficult for Aoi to go."

Strass showed a reluctant attitude and tilted his head. Seeing this, Strass let out a shallow breath.

"...Now, Aoi is not only a representative of Fidic Academy but also a person recognized by the Mapleleaf Emperor, the current Saint, and the Saintess. If it were to be said that such an important person strongly condemned the Rosenstiel family, there is a high possibility that some form of punishment would be imposed externally."

Coat and Eliza nodded at this, and Shenery frowned with worry.

"It's fine. I will go as a teacher to have a conversation."

I said this, thinking I would try to persuade them, but everyone avoided my gaze and looked down at the table.

Flight magic consumes a bit more mana, but it is very convenient and efficient. I strongly felt this during this trip.

After all, a distance that would normally take about a week by carriage was covered in just about an hour.

The floating sensation of the carriage changed, and it gently landed on the ground.

"Alright, Shenery. We've arrived."

As I said this and opened the carriage door, Shenery hesitantly came out.

"Y-Yes...!?"

Then, she noticed the surroundings and gasped. The street where the carriage had landed was lined with soldiers, not just on the street but also in the surrounding area, all holding their swords.

There were a thousand or two thousand of them. The sight of the soldiers, dressed in imposing attire and holding their swords, was quite intimidating.

"What business do you have in the Rosenstiel Viscount's territory!? Answer me!"

A bearded soldier shouted. No, he was on horseback and wearing a grand mantle. He might be a knight.

While thinking this, I looked around once more to confirm there was no threat and then spoke.

"I am a teacher at Fidic Academy, and my name is Aoi Konomina. A few days ago, a letter was sent to Shenery, the viscount's biological daughter, instructing her to return home. I have brought her here."

As I said this, one of the soldiers noticed Shenery.

"Miss Shenery?"

"Have you returned?"

Reacting to this voice, the soldiers' hostility and vigilance gradually faded.

The bearded knight looked at Shenery, who was standing behind me, and furrowed his brow in thought.

"Indeed, it does seem to be Miss Shenery, but I have not heard of such a matter. I apologize, but please wait here for a moment."

The knight said this and quickly turned his horse to head towards the town.

The small town at the end of the street was difficult to see due to the wall of soldiers. The surrounding area was marked by a wall about three meters high, distinguishing the inside from the outside of the town.

Even after the knight left, the presence of the soldiers made me feel uncomfortable.

"...A-Aoi-sensei."

Suddenly, Shenery called me with an anxious voice. When I turned around, I saw Shenery standing in front of the carriage door, looking down and glancing up at me.

"It's fine. I will handle the conversation properly."

I said this to reassure her, but Shenery just looked at me with an indescribable expression.
